What? I am? Oh...

Well, here's an easy one:

Who was the father of Gimli, and which other person at the Council did he exhibit enmity towards?

Pippin, because he dropped a stone down the well? I'm not really sure...

Gandalf

Well.........yes! The "Fool of a Took" was for some reason, attracted to the uncovered well. When he dropped the stone, the faint "tom-tap, tap-tom" hammer sounds began. Gandalf told Pippen he could go on first watch as a reward. Gandalf soon relieved Pippen of the duty, since he could not sleep himself.

Ok, I've thought of a question: What is the name of Farmer Maggot's land?

Maybe we should start a Two Towers trivia thread too?

I'm going to suggest going all the way to 100 pages on this one before opening a TT trivia thread (IOW, when this thread closes at 100 pages, a TT one will open as the new thread), especially since we already have a Rohan trivia thread going here, too.

-elfearz- is correct.
100 pages? I suppose this thread is going to be going for a while yet.

Well, if it "dies" before then, we can always open it up to TT questions, too.

Dies? What are you all talking about! Shut up and play, punks! (Not you Azalea!)

Who shall ask the next question? Who answered the last one right? Please proceed!

30 pages seemed like a long time when my setting were 30 posts per page but when I set it to 3 it was much sooner.

How about 400 posts?

1000 posts isn't enough for me. Geez, look at The Hobbit triva thread. It's still going strong. FoTR is so rich with info, and the movie left so much out. Will somebody please ask a question!

Oops! I meant just to start the TT trivia thread. Heck, I'd do all three at once. I don't think it should be closed unless a new one is started. It seems that unless questions start getting repeated because the thread is too long for newbies to read, it should stay open indefinitely. I think the threads running concurently would be more fun, but then I don't have to moderate them. These get so little spam I don't see them as being as bad as some other threads.

Trivia threads are great! Some newbies need them. It might be the only way they hear about the "original" stories!

Elfearz....A question please!

Just to clarify: I think the "rule" at Entmoot is that when a thread reaches 100 pages, it is closed and a new one is opened on the same subject (as was done w/ the Venting thread I think, and the quote game, IIRC) I was just saying that it might be nice to keep the trivia to two threads here, and when FotR is "exhausted," TTT can be added, either before or after it reaches 100 pages, it really doesn't matter. My personal opinion is that if there are too many trivia threads in a forum, one of them is bound to "die." I thought it would be best to keep the two we have alive and kicking, since they seem to be going strong right now, then if traffic on them slows down, this one can be revitalized by opening the floor to questions from TTT.
However, I don't want to stifle anyone, and it really makes no difference to me, so if anyone just can't stand going "in order" (I'm an "in order" kind of person), by all means open another thread. I'm just afraid one will die.

Back to this topic, isn't there a "24 hour rule" or something? How long do you wait for the answerer to post a ques. before allowing anyone to go?

I don't think we need to rush things. Two days is fine with me! Lots of people have jobs, and responsibilities that might keep them away for a bit. It seems like we have some members that visit during the workweek, and take the weekend off. Patience is a virtue! Anyway, I try to wait two, if not three days before throwing out a new question. Let's give -elfearz- a chance to stump us! I agree with Azalea about too many trivias, but you all can do as you wish, that's for sure! I happen to be smitten with FoTR and The Hobbit!
