Just because he can't see doesn't automatically make him blind... but why did you want to make him blind in the first place?
Just curious. You don't have to have a reason, I guess.

Haha funny. Aerin would not particularly care either way for a Spandex-clad Quickleaf. Like I said earlier, she's not here for love! And she's currently just trying to keep Quickleaf alive. It's sort of that whole feminine care-taker thing going on. You know. It's almost an instinct for her to take care of him.
She's not in love with him. Although she wouldn't particularly care either way, I think she would prefer it if EVERYONE kept their fun Spandex costumes locked up forever.

With the Isalien shattering into a thousand pieces I thought'd it be realistic to make it affect Quickleaf!

I don't know... They were tiny pieces, and that cavern was vast. Quickleaf and the pieces of Isalien would have fallen at the same rate, so unless he threw the pieces in his face, he wouldn't have run into them, or had them fall into his face. Therefore, it just is very far-fetched anyway.

You mean the Spandex locked up forever? That spoils all your fun?
Whatever floats your boat.

If he is that badly injured then Quickleaf gets left behind, which makes even more sense. I don't think the quest is going to wait a few years to get him to Stick-esque capabilities. (Stick, the blind master that taught daredevil).

Don't worry for Quickleaf. He'll find a way!

Pity, spandex always get such bad press. Maybe Nami's more of the leather -type?

I still don't know if you can injure your eyes by sharp glass and get away with a blindfold for a while. Eyes are fragile things. But eh, I'm not an eye-specialist, and I'm not going to argue any more. A healable eye-injury and a blindfold it shall be. But remember, it should be obvious enough that it will heal, otherwise it still would make no sense to drag an injured elf along on this quest. But wouldn't it have made more sense then if the shards hit his face instead of exactly in his eyes? Eyes are a rather small contact area in the face, you've got to be really unlucky to be hit right there.

But he WAS lucky enough to land in water and get stuck with his face above the water when he was stopped by the grille.

Yes it's unlucky to get glass in your eyes!

It's not like Quickleaf lost all his limbs It's far more realistic than magic ghosts and invisible bonds of witchcraft.. It's all about adapting!

Magic's a tricky thing to do right, I'll grant you that. To this point I'm not sure if it will or not pay off.
But injuries are a whole other ball-game. And too often trivialised. I have nothing against realistic injuries, in fact, I'm a big supporter of that. But realistic though they'd be, if they're serious enough, they'd still put you in Lorien's hospital tree.

Perhaps it only looks as though the glass cut his eyes but the cut is really the inside of his eye lid or something. A case of minor injuries confused for something more serious would allow for drama without getting him left behind.

What if, on closer inspection, Aerin discovers that Quickleaf is really just an extraordinarily messy cherry-flavored Kool-Aid drinker?
