Another riddle for y'all....
Small and slimy, thin and wary, as dark as darkness and just as scary. Pale eyes glowing in the night, afraid to seek the morning light. Often speaking, no one hearing. Always alone, no one caring. Also, here is a reposting of the previous riddle: Who are we? A remnant of an ancient race We are said to be. Folk call us strange and befriend us not, Yet aid we give to thee. For in our far-off land that lies beyond the mighty bay, We feed and shelter those poor souls Whose paths have gone astray. We run with bones upon our feet, On lands with little sod. Our wheel-less carts go to and fro Where strangers seldom trod. Last edited by Keith K : 09-04-2003 at 05:26 PM. |

I'd say the first one is about Gollum but it sounds too obvious an answer.
The second one refers to the Lossoth, the snowpeople from the north that helped Arvedui?

Keith K's latest riddle:
Beneath a helm of secrecy dwelt a face without hope. It’s clear gray eyes and keen glance in search of death. Young and faithful, a heart beyond fear. Where will wants not, a way opens. So under cloak a burden borne. Riding through darkness, speaking to no one. Last edited by Keith K : 09-09-2003 at 01:38 PM. |

Here's a pretty bad one by me:
On an empty shell of life falls a tear, Of one whose son, soon all will fear. Abandoned form, lies still and weak, The darkened mind must healing seek.

A new riddle...
Three times this burden I bore. Isengard---Moria---Mordor. (you must name the bearer and the burden to solve the riddle) |

Thanks Keith K, I suppose I have had much practise with the very cryptic riddles from the first riddling thread.
The answer to your riddle this time is: Gwaihir is the bearer and Gandalf is the burden.

Another Keith K riddle:
The dwarves would walk the wide world over Meeting folk of many kinds. They crafted iron, silver, and gold And proudly spoke their minds. Yet there was a secret that they held close; No other race could discover. For they used it only among themselves And kept it from all others. Last edited by Keith K : 09-14-2003 at 10:02 PM. |

Here's a riddle:
Out from the mountains’ foot I ran. Ten leagues around, then back again. Here's a clue: Of animal, mineral, or vegetable, I am mineral. Last edited by Keith K : 09-14-2003 at 09:57 PM. |

Who am I?
I’m bold and I'm brave, unafraid of death. I saved a poor hobbit from the black breath. I fooled Mordor’s servants into shredding some beds, And I’m the best darn waiter a table did spread! Last edited by Keith K : 09-14-2003 at 10:00 PM. |
