The place of my internship is at an hour and a half distance and I have to be in my classroom by 8 when the kids start coming in. So I need to get up at 5.30 usually, but today I was woken up at 4.30 AM.
What sort of shoot, Pip?

Darn, since when does clay curl when drying? It's been clearly too long ago that I've worked with it. Should have worked with thicker layers. Now my Persian warrior bas-relief is in three pieces, not that it matters too much since it's for an achaeologist and they get nearly all their pottery in multiple pieces so she won't mind the cracks. I think. Still got to paint it, in two days, days filled with many other things to do, and I don't remember how clay reacts to paint anymore.

...

I need some tea. *rummages in the Teacup cupboards*

What sort of shoot, Pip?

We're doing a documentary on Tubercolosis and I'm part of a group involved with doing reinactments of some stuff. I'm the production coordinator so I've been working with the production manager to get food and a truck for this weekend. Last time I had to reserve a truck I did and then someone said they reserved one at a non-existsent place and messed things up. But it looks like we've got it covered for the most part. Shoots are just nervewracking though because even if everything looks like we've got it covered, something else will go wrong. I'm so glad that the things that have gone wrong so far are easily fixable.

What grade kids were thet Mari?

Not a pot, a small relief out of clay, depicting a persian warrior as seen on the Ishtar gate. It's a birthday gift.

That sounds quite good, I'll go with that one.

That sounds interesting! My grandmother worked in a hospital for TBC-patients.

Persian or Assyrian warrior? That gate was built before Babylon was captured by Persia, by King Nebuchadnezzar II , why would it have a Persian warrior on it? I knew it had dragons, bulls and lions on it, but I didn't think it had people on it.

Just tell them it's a futuristic view of what the gate will look like after the alien invasion, when it gets knocked down and broken. Eh? Eh? Am I not full of awesome ideas?

Gah, you're totally right, he's not on the Ishtar Gate. (I keep thinking the Ishtar Gate because I've been wanting to paint one of the dragons and that one keeps bouncing around in my head as long as I don't come around to it.)

No, the Persian warrior I'm talking about is indeed not from the Ishtar Gate, but from Persepolis.

Right you are. Please be so kind to stand by with another awesome idea to spring me out of the looney bin after I take your first advice.

Uggg, can I have hot chocolate instead of tea.

So, Remember how I said everything that could go wrong does? Our location for tomorrow got cancelled. Isn't that hilarious? *cackles maniacly* sorry, I'm kinda tired and frustrated.

The clay relief sounds like a cool thing.

Yo, all.

I'm draggin. Why don't I have teams of servants to meet my slightest whims?

That's what happens when you chose your incarnation for charm and wit. Next time, I'm going for money.

From a couple of pages back:

Quote:
You'll learn Swahili in a flash I guarantee it! It's one of the easiest languages in the world to learn, though I may have had an advantage as its way of pronounciation is quite similar to Norwegian..

If you need any advice as to good places to go out on weekends, places to eat or the best coffee (Dormans!) then fire away or pm me I'll be mooooooooore than happy to help Go Kenya!
You're right, Swahili is very straightforward! I've never before come across a language where I could learn how to form past, present and future tenses in about 10 minutes. The grammar is nice and easy - it's just vocabulary that'll be my problem.

Do you know the Ngong area at all? Nairobi is a little far for a daytrip I think, especially with transport as it is...and yes, coffee recommendations would be very welcome (though Maasai tea is just awesome and that's what I've been drinking here!)

Ok, see you all next week!

I keep trying, but last time I didn't speak very clearly and they thought I said I wanted to have lots and lots of honey.

...

*sigh*

If you'll excuse me, I need to go check on the bees. *puts on the netted hat and goes outside*

To go with the tea. Left-overs. Granny's 90th is successfully celebrated. My family is insane. And exhausted. In a good way.
