Cool Beans...I just had a surpise 'going away' party for me thrown by my office mates....I got roses (orange/yellow) and a cherry cake that melted in our mouthes, oh, and $20 plus loads of gift certificates for Dunkin Donuts and McD's (salads!)......Feels great to be said goodbye too in such a nice way!

I'm transfering to the very western tip of NY...scary but exciting, too!

So happy!! My computer works. I turned it on and it was giving me grief, so I prayed about it, and what do you know but it works. Thank you God!

God's involved in everything! Without meaning disrespect, I'll quote Frank Burns, "He's a nice guy." God's just so good.

Spock, did you check out my post in 'what are you reading'?

Yep and did you, mine?
.....to quote Woody Allen " If it turns out that there is a God, I don't think that he's evil. But the worst that you can say about him is that basically he's an
underachiever."
.....that's him, not me.

"...underacheiver..." Never heard that descriptor ascribed to God before. I don't really think it applies, either. But, as my dad says, "Opinions are like belly-buttons; everybody's got one."

I've heard that one. Oh, so true. Reminds me of John Lennon's: "Life's what happens while you're making other plans." My dad likes that one a lot. It makes me think of George Bailey, and then I get depressed.

Actually, it's not my computer. *shrugs, grins* But it is fantastic. New keyboard and everything. I love the sound of these keys! (Am I the only weird person in the world who likes the different sounds of keyboards?)

So we are redoing my room.... About a week ago we finished the duvet cover for the bed, the ruffle/skirt was done since last Christmas. Then two days ago I recovered a chair and made to pillow slips, yesterday I recovered another chair, and today I worked on a pillow. Plus we ordered curtains/shades.

Now...should I paint the walls pale yellow or blue? The bed skirt is blue. The duvet cover is yellow (background) with blue French country scenes (toile). The shades are the same material (It comes across more yellow than blue, if one is adding up the quantities of these colors). The chair covers are generally blue. The pillows are assorted materials (yellows, blues). The floor will be hardwood with (blue?yellow?neutral?) area rugs. I have two walls with a window each. With their positioning and some trees I don't get a lot of sun. Plus my lamps aren't extremely bright. So I'm thinking yellow could brighten it up a bit... But blue is nice too.

My mom loves doing this. She's tells me how she always wanted to completely redo a room, but never wanted to do her and my dad's (didn't want it too girly). And it takes money, something you're not rolling in with grad school and kids. Anyway,

Good advice. I just did my first defrag since I got my computer, and I couldn't beleive what magic it did. It cut the time it took to fully load by three minutes! Also do a disk cleanup before a defrag. Several people I know recommend a disk cleanup and defrag once a week.

Oh, and I forgot to mention:
Mom is doing better. They did a Tracheostomy, because having the tube directly through her mouth for a long time would ahve permanently damaged her vocal cords. Her heart is weaker, but they might ahve found an antibiotic that treats the STAPH. She's under 50% sedation now, so when I went to visit her last night, she understood what I said. She still can't talk, becaus the air she would need to talk doesn't even reach her mouth, but hse can nod her head. She's all upset because hse missed two weeks of her life.

I'm so glad she's doing better!

Mertico- my mom is constantly redoing rooms in our house. Right now we're re-doing the staircase... it looks about a million times better than it did, but I have to tell you that the moving furniture and painting and repainting gets tiresome after a while.
