"fell beasts" doesn't have to be a reference to the Nazgul's steeds, it could be just what it means : deadly animals.

I just found one little mistake - it's 'dwell there', not 'dwelt'.

For the hint... The 'ancient kindred' are the Elves, and 'fell beasts' are beasts of Morgoth, that we don't know anythign else about them.
