Yeah, I think my theory might be right - faster stuff just started trickling in, and they never changed the road rules - they just manage the way they always did before, when it wasn't dangerous to bump into others.

Knowing you have to produce a number of good applications for internships at various hospitals, is stressful! Especially when the deadlines are approaching rapidly.

Even more stressful is the fact that I don't know where I'll be 6 months from now. I could still be in Stockholm or I could wind up in some distant small town for the next two years.

Ah, uncertainty, anxiety and I will see much of one another for the foreseeable future

Hang in there, Jonathan! If there's anything I've learned from watching sitcoms and hospital dramas over the years, it's that the good-looking people rarely get killed off. Or if they do it's just so they can have their own spinoff show. SO I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

And then there's Cleveland. *headscratch*

Hah, maybe I should put that in my applications?

Well, if by the above you mean I've got the looks on my side, I can just bow humbly and say "aw, thank you ". Nice knowing someone believes you won't be killed off anytime soon

Gwai, I didn't know Cleveland had his own spinoff until now (I suppose you're referring to the Family Guy character).

That would go awesome on an application:

"I see you have listed here that you are an attractive main character. What sort of experience do you have to backup this claim?"

"Well, I'm pretty hot, and I do find that a lot of important, plot building things seem to happen in my day-to-day life."

"Hmm... fair enough. When can you start?"

See? AWESOME.

But obviously not everyone likes that style!
Less than there used to be when I got here twenty years ago- I came from China which was a total nightmare- mass rush to get on anything. I lived at the end of a bus line, and there'd be three people waiting for an empty bus, chatting peacably until the doors opened; then they'd started kicing and scratching to get in ahead of each other.

Of course at that time everywhere was jammed and there was a shortage of everything, so if you didn't you'd often go without.

I'd have trouble with that kind of driving, too - it just makes so much more sense to me for people to obey road rules like in the US. Do you think that's the difference between countries that are younger and grew up with faster-type transportation and those that are older and had mostly walking and animals, where you didn't really need road rules?
Could be- plus in a country like Taiwan that's become wealthy quickly there are a lot of people who are inexperienced drivers- they grew up on scooters and drive their cars the same way.

Old countries, new countries- what explains the difference between German and Italian drivers?

Holy CRAP, people, I just had a scare! A cousin of mine posted this on Facebook:
Quote:
My mom made me laugh, wiped my tears, hugged me tight, helped me succeed, saw me fail, cheered me on & kept me strong! Moms are a promise from God that you will have a friend forever! Put this on your status if you love your Mom whether she's here with you, or in Heaven. I know she is with me every day and is my guardian angel.
I missed the second-to-last sentence, and thought my aunt had died! Grr, spam statuses!

So, it turns out food is sort of a pre-requisite for working out. I'm currently between meal plans at my residence, so I haven't been eating so much as snacking, and then trying to work out killed me. Whodathunk?

Oh man, so true. One time I didn't eat much for breakfast, then I worked out and about 30 min after I finished working out I started shaking and getting light-headed... eating fixed it.

But seriously, don't exercise if you can't eat. O_o Bad idea.

GAH! People can be so ridiculous! I tried to tell my brother a funny story, and the punk was so busy getting side-tracked by an insignificant detail and delivering a rant I'd already heard a dozen times from him that he completely missed teh funniez.

Someone rear-ended me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! >.< AAAAAAARGH!!!!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE?!!?

Once again... I was stopped dead, and this time couldn't have moved (even though I saw it coming this time) because I had cars ahead of me and beside me. At the stop light, the guy coming up behind me (I was already stopped) just... you know.... didn't hit his breaks. But don't worry. I made sure to stop him.

Thank God it was in a rental car and not mine.
