When it's a text I don't recognize, and I can manage most of a line, I will indeed do the text line-by-line ...
Today will be a little different, though, as I first saw what the second line would be, and that then helped me to work out the first line. If this is helpful: for one of the words, remember that English can be a funny language. We might have two very different words that sound alike, but are spelled similarly. Or - those two different words could even have somewhat similar meanings - for example, one is a verb, the other an adjective. And yet... different spellings.
