Et les Big Mac français sont fantastiques.
Ugh! Vous etes comme ma soeur, avec manger des frites avec le mayonnaise. Je ne puis pas la regarder quand elle mange ici. Je les aime avec du vinegar, comme anglaise.

J'ai mange un Big Mac en Germany, contre ma volonte. Il etait terrible, comme aux Etas-Unis.

*phew* this makes more 'cents' now.

Er... plug-ins? Lo siento, no comprendo. What are plug-ins? (Your Spanish is better than mine, Lalaith! )

Les frites belges sont Ă* mon avis les plus meileurs de la monde. Je les aime surtout sans mayonnaise mais avec du sel. Oui, je sais, ce n'est pas très sain mais surtout très dĂ©licieux!

Je préfère aussi dire 'septante' et 'nonante'. Ce'st si facile! Esayez de dire quatre-vingt-dix très vite. Je me casse la langue sur ce mot. C'est seulement dommage qu'un Français ne le comprend pas.

Ah I get it. Well, I'd say we have the natural kind of 220 V socket. I can't say I know much of Austrian wall sockets but I doubt they differ much from the Belgian kind.

Pretty much to me. I don't know any other kind of wall sockets. Do you want me to measure the distance between the holes to be certain?

No, but it could be that you have three things ... or whatever.
Thanks for the info.

Do you also live in a country full of outlaws where the government can to what it wants? (sorry, just had to say that).

I know what you mean, Lalaith. I can hereby firmly state that I do not think there is another country that has so many regulations and laws on such a small piece of territory as Belgium. But sadly enough that's not necesarily a good thing..... *sigh*

Political discussions are always a little ... dangerous. I shouldn't argue with JD, he won't ever see that we also have Democracy.

Tell me, Eärniel, can you speak Indonesian now?

I forgot to mention in the PMs that I have a better definition for the prefix ber- now. It means to 'have/possess/do' the root word (a noun). Like bersepatu (sepatu=shoes)-to wear shoes, berolahraga (olahraga=sport) to play sport and bersekolah (sekolah=school)- go to school. That wasn't much clearer, was it?

Also, I have been reading some Indo forums, and it appears that they do indicate their plural by following the noun with a number '2' (such as buku2). But that's internet-speak, I'm not sure about in proper books and all that.

Noooooo. It's rather different from Dutch and I told you before I don't have a head for languages.

Well actually it was.

It's certainly a very special way of writing a plural. It'd be the very first language I know of that uses numbers in ordinary writing.

New Topic.
I didn't say you didn't have democracy - I said you didn't have real freedom when you restrict free speech and thought.

I had to clear that up - since you misrepresented my statements. You can continue on talking about languages now.

No, ordinary writing doesn't use the numbers- just colloquial, if I'm not mistaken. I don't think the books do that anymore- they use the normal way of doubling the noun.

Edit: 'Niel, you've made me think so much about Indo grammar that I was constructing Indo sentences...whilst asleep. And I am certain they were correct!

Jon. Nej, jag talar inte esperanto. Varför? Vill du lära dig det? It should be extremely easy for you; a planned language for a language genius!

Nej, jag vill inte lära mig esperanto. I just hoped that someone could speak and maybe post a little Esperanto in this thread. I wanted to see how the language looked like in it's written form

Esperanto:

Hello: saluton
Good-bye: ĝis
Please: mi petas
Thank you: dankon
That one: tiu
How much?: kiom
English: la angla
Yes: jes
No: ne
Where is the bathroom?: Kie estas la necesejo?
Generic toast: je via sano
Do you speak English?: Ĉu vi parolas angle?

Not too hard, since it's based on the Romance languages, eller hur?

Well it was supposed to be very easy to learn. However I can't understand the meaning with crazy symbols like 'Ĉ' and 'ĝ'. A language constructed to be easy should avoid those kinds of letters

I think they tried to incorporate a lot of common sounds into the language, and they didn't want to have 'new' letters in the alphabet. So they used the latin letters with symbols to represent 'soft'/different sounds. Like 'Ĉ' would be pronounced 'ch' (like it would be in Italian and also Indo)and 'ĝ' is 'soft' g- which is in 'gene'.

I think Interlingua doesn't have those 'crazy symbols'. It looks incredibly similar to Italian to me.
