You are correct with Málonya being my friend, though. I'm happy to see you two are carrying on without me. |

I have a question for you elvish language learned people. What does 'Linanrinthë' mean? A friend of mine is convinced it's elvish but I can't figure out what it means. I think she did that on purpose.

Lin-=verb stem, 'sing' (may also mean 'many') rin='dew' (from a very early source) It does not look like Sindarin either... Sounds like a name taken from the Barrowdowns namegenerator...

li- or lin- = many (I have lind- as melody and my listing for lin- as sing says it was crossed out, so probably not 'sing') nan = woodland rin = dew but nothing that represents rinthë or thë. Perhaps... dew of the woods? I'm not very good with Sindarin, but if it is Sindarin... maybe... lin = pool an = with rintha = jerk/twitch bwahhahahaha!!! maybe it would mean a body of water that is not still, but choppy. You know, a disturbed body of water, perhaps. I bet Falagar is right, your friend might have gotten that name from the name generator. I've seen some odd names come from that. Falagar tecero is a combination of tecë (writes) and -ro (he) so I meant to say... 'he writes'. I found "ya rato nëa" in a word list as: "which soon may (it) be = which I hope to be soon". I thought I would try to use it. From now on, if I find a little saying I'll put it into quotes so you will know not to take it literally. so... Utúvienyë minë quén man merë istya Quenya lambë, Radagast. Meren tecero sinomë, ya rato nëa. I have found one person who wishes (to) learn Quenya tongue/language, Radagast. I wish he writes in/on this place, which I hope to be soon. Autan ep'sana. Cainen sanar ni entuluva ar tecë sinomë. An sina lú ná vanwië, nyéruvan. (I put a ' between the two words ep- and sana, to help.) |

i don't think that "Linanrinthë" can be quenya. i think that the clustr "nr" is not possible in that language.

Not only is nr not a valid cluster, but I don't think th is either.
Also, it's merin not meren, I do not know why.
