I don't think you've given it away at all... You've just made my guess plausible. I may be wrong.
My guess is Feanor. 1 Feanor 3 Silmarils 7 Sons The only thing still visible is the one silmaril on Vingilot which can be seen as a star.

Perfectly correct And even with my bad lore (how on Middle-Earth did my brain turn the seven sons of Feanor into six........weird)

Hi Taniquetil,
It was fine riddle and I enjoyed very much. JRR had a thing for certain numbers (1, 3, 5, 7, 9 - seen in things like: rings, silmarils, istari, palantir, standard of Gondor, etc...). Six just struck me as odd right out of the gate. It just seemes unTolkien-like. It was the 6 that made me think - a number of children had by somebody. As an aside... I had to check the lore too.

A guess....
The White Ship???? It carried the first 2 hobbits to the uttermost west as well as the last of the rings (the elven ones borne by Gandalf, Galadriel and Elrond).

The White ship indeed! And (once again) solved in a different way than I was thinking!
The two first were the Hobbits Gandalf was the last Istari Elrond was the last acting Lord of the Exiled Noldor And Galadriel was the last Caliquendi to leave Middle Earth.

I came first to save,
But went to kill, When made a slave, Of the "Wicked's" will. Advice I was to lend, But I became the aggressor, And in the end, Was betrayed by a lesser. That was fun. Last edited by Torongil : 01-07-2012 at 04:56 PM. |

Try this one out if any of you yet remain... What do a hobbit, a rabbit, and a king's head have in common? |

Stone King's stone crown adorned a second time with flowers, Heart wide renowned is probably Frodo - looking on and making the observation (though some may argue for Sam - still applicable). As they look on - standing (on their feet) among those flowers which are like gold stars. I thought your other one would also be from this area - but can't yet put it together.

Also, the two riddles are totally unrelated. The kings head from the first riddle is not the stone head in Ithilien. Nor are the stewed coneys the rabbit, and the hobbit is neither Frodo or Sam. Last edited by Keith K : 02-28-2012 at 06:48 PM. Reason: Add clue. |

Aragorn became king of two kingdoms (in theory) - Arnor and Gondor. Is his the 'head twice crowned'?

It is not Luthien. What would your guess be if you believed that the solution was something other than an actual character? |
