OK.

I'm considering this thread to really be "What do women want? In general, I mean."

Is this less or is this more confusing now?

But each woman is an individual, and although we may have similarities in what we want, generalizations are bad because they try to say that all women (or most, anyway) are the same way in what they want.

No, go ahead with this thread. I don't really care.

Haha, good stuff, good stuff.

Personally, the comment made on the 1st page of this thread "looks get my attention but smarts keep it" I think sums it up. Of course we're drawn to whomever we find attractive- guys as well as us girls are guilty to this. Point of fact is, different looks are appealing to different people- my roommate loves chubby guys, guys with a belly, a "chub-a-lub", while I tend to be drawn to taller, borderline skinny guys. Its the way we're designed, its so the species doesnt die out- so that we're not all looking soley for a Brad Pitt and a Marilyn Monroe.
But when it all comes down to the 'mind over matter' aspect, we want the same characteristics that (I hope) we're striving for ourselves. Doesnt everyone (males/females) want loyalty? Truth? Comfort? Respect and admiration?

One thing I think all women (and people in general, too) want is someone who won't try to change who they are. I respect and like (even love) any guy who can understand and accept things I do and believe, whether he thinks the same or not. I think conflict is always a good thing to have, though. Nothing is more boring than perfection. Once you have perfection, it remains the same thing day after day, and I've never met someone who could stand that.

i think one v. important thing is security. when im with a guy i have to be able to have complete trust in him to be able to enjoy being with him and away from him. and yeh, no1 likes being led along when they could be with someone who cares about them.

Does security also have to do with money? Can a guy be a blue collar worker, bring in just enough to squeeze by with, but still make you feel secure?

Most definitely. When it comes to security, though, I think more of they just protect you from harm rather than bring in the dough. I'd like to be bringing in at least half of it, you know But some girls won't agree me with me there, I think.

Security in a guy mans to me, someone who can make you feel safe and warm even if your being hunted down by the law. Someone who can make you forget everything.

I take it that's why you changed your avatar. Is that a Simpson's rendition of The X files?

I've watched my parents make it through almost thirty years, and my dad was what you would consider a blue-collar worker all the way up until last year. As a kid, I had no idea we were poor. I thought garage sales were there for fun, and that we brought juice boxes from home when we went to McDonalds for the same reason. Christmas and birthday gifts came from Garage sales, too, but money wasn't enough of a source of tension that we were even aware of it. I don't recall ever hearing my parents arguing over money, even though looking back, and talking with my parents now I realize that there was a definate lack of it.

Nah, money doesn't matter. That's my long-winded schpeil. I would like to be able to stay at home, though, b/c homeschooling kids would be a must!
