Here's one:

Prime and new,
add me together for 2 times 2.

Indeed, Glaurung is correct! Here's another easy one:

Went down, then fell, then rose, then fell, then went down again, then rose.
Who/What am I?

These aren't easy. Oh, and I do apologise for my absence, despite me mourning the past inactivity of this thread. These riddles aren't really attached to anything, and my memory fails me now... maybe later.

Is this a referring to the digits in a ME year number?

All I could think of was 1 and 3... like maybe the One Ring and the Three that belonged to the Elves???

No to both of you.

It's a non-ME riddle.

The seasons possibly from the prime of spring to the new year there are four seasons.

Nope!

Here's another hint: It's timely.

LOL, it seems way too obvious now, THE NEW YEAR! 2+0+1+1=4
Good one

Now you are obligated to guess mine

Yes! Great guessing.

I think my hints may have been too revealing.

Well, you were only being fair by telling that it was a non-ME riddle and I was already on the track that it was "timely" so you didn't do to bad.

Went down, then fell, then rose, then fell, then went down again, then rose
Who am I?

Bump-and-a-hint: both "goings down" mean the same thing, but it speaks of two different kinds of "falling" and two different kinds of "rising." You will also notice that I have now given that the answer is a who.

All the falling, I'm getting a picture of Frodo in that ridiculous Shelob scene (from the movie, of course) where he seemed to forget how to walk... is that any kind of close?

A reaching guess...

Gandalf...

Went down into Moria.
Fell off the bridge.
Rose by climbing to the peak.
Fell from the peak after dispatching the Balrog.
Went down into the world of the dead (I'm not really my explanation for this part)
Rose again as Gandalf the white.

Gandalf it was!!!!
I was thinking:
Went down into Moria
Fell off the bridge
Rose by climbing the peak
Fell in battle against the Balrog
Was carried down to Lothlorien
Rose again as Gandalf the White

But four out of six is excellent for such a riddle!
Hhhhhmmmm, now I must think of a riddle worthy to follow it.

Try this one:

From one came three and six, but only one of the ten remains visible

Turn the 6 into a 7 and I have a solution (clearly not the one you are looking for). Right now I'm scratching my head...

AHHHHHHH! My lore was wrong! The 6 was indeed a 7. But now I have given it away.

So try this one:
What went two firsts but three lasts
