Everyone around me is upset!!!! That always makes me feel jittery... but I'm trying not to let it get to me. There's no reason to let other people being upset make me upset. I always feel like someone's going to hit me, though. I don't think anyone ever -has-, but I'm always afraid they will. I know: it's weird.
Plus my diction teacher was super mean today. Wow. o.O She was so pissed off at a few people not being ready for class, so she assigned... well basically an almost impossible pop-quiz for Wednesday. We have to pronounce, 1 on 1, a French song for her with five or less mistakes. So if we make a vowel nasal when it shouldn't be, or something simple like that, that counts as a mistake. We've only had four sessions of French. I think she's only doing it because she was pissed off today. I hope I do okay. She makes me EXTREMELY nervous when she's angry, and I don't want to go in there and freeze up like I did today. That made me realize how much I need to not let other people being upset get to me so much... I was prepared, but it looked like I wasn't because I got nervous and made stupid mistakes. |

Just found out today that my dad has a brain tumor. The doctors say it's operable but honestly I'm scared to death. I don't feel as sad as I do angry, because crap like this has been happening all year, now culminating with this.
This is truly the Year of Hell. Everything's been a nightmare. My fiance Amy has been sick for the past week. I haven't ever been sick before so I'm not sure what it's like, but it sounds bad. Muscle pains are usually caused by a long 20 mile walk, not by illness. So she's not doing too well at all, but she's going to be alright because her case isn't life threatening. As a matter of fact, my dad's doctor said that my dad's condition isn't life threatening either, at least at the moment. It appears it has been caught early; however I'm still worried. I came home today from the movies with Amy and I went to talk to my dad - he was putting up Christmas lights and said to me "well I went to the doctor, and he didn't have good news." First thing I said, only thing I could say was..."oh sh** - how bad is it?" Then he said brain tumor and it basically felt like getting shot point blank range by a volley of arrows from crossbows. But I have to be positive for him. I don't think positively much, well I haven't this year after a great many "dooms" have cursed us all, but I will have to find a way to think positively at least for his sake. So I'll be offline a lot more than before given the Great Battle of (my) time. |

Ingwe, for what they're worth: my condolences. Brain tumors are no joke

I'm sorry to hear that, Ingwe That's good that it's operable, but it will be a difficult time, and I'm sure your dad will appreciate your love and support.

Thanks my friends. Given the lack of medical insurance, my fiance's grandparents, who Amy was raised by, have offered my dad some money to pay for some of the treatments. It's amazing that over the past year Amy and her family have almost become kind of like a really close extended family - I see her family more than I see most of my own LoL. I'm glad to see people band together like that. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Surgery will be in a couple of days and from what we hear it's not going to be anything that will require a long recovery, which is amazing considering what it involves. Despite that they will be keeping him in the hospital for 2 weeks even after it, so if any good can come out of the whole thing it's that my dad will get two weeks of well-deserved relaxation (well if you could call being in a hospital relaxation, but at any rate there won't be as much to have on his mind during that time). Right now I'm introducing my dad to the world of the game Battle for Middle Earth 2: Rise of the Witch-King. I figured he might enjoy that. I downloaded over 100 maps from Battle for Middle Earth files site on filefront, and I intend to try all of them out. Gotta make the best of a bad situation, so having fun that way should prove to be a good idea. |

I put on a bunch of my stage makeup today because I was practicing for when I have to apply it in class on Friday, and when I finished and really looked at myself in the mirror, I thought: Wow, I actually do look pretty good.
Then I was finished, so I took it all off, and when I double checked to make sure I'd gotten everything off... all I could think was: Ugh. What on earth made Jack think I was cute? I look ugly. *sigh* So, I'm trying not to be stupid. Frigging makeup. Now I feel like every acne scar and blemish (and of course I have a new one as of last night that is RIGHT on the side of my lip) has a huge, neon arrow pointing at it. |

Aaah, the insecurities of teenage life... Trust me on this, Tessar, you ARE cute.
And makeup only ends up giving you allergies, anyway.
