I watched some movie called Ash Wednesday on IFC the other day. It had Elijah Wood in it and it was pretty okay, a little bit boring and slow moving at times. I also so the Pianist recently, now I LOVE Adrian Brody and I rented Dummy just to watch him again. He's so strange looking... I don't know there's just something about him . I also watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike back, I thought it was really funny. I also saw Butterfly effect and it was a waste of two hours. The ending was so BAD!!! It was such a let down becuase I was expecting it to be really really good.

The place i was staying at this past week had a crappy cinema that played on two nights, thats 2 movies a week, and they only had shall we dance and Hero so no cinema for me last week. However i did get round to watching the Takashi Miike movie, Ichi the Killer which was ****ed up and confusing, but such an excellent film.
A friend got the uncut version from Japan but i think the australian version was released sometime this week.
Kakihara is an awesome character, a sick masochist with a ****ed up mouth but also with an undeniably hot multicolored suit
gotta love the line off the poster All events and characters in this film are entirely sick, any resemblance to persons living or dead is a sad coincidence

I've seen Troy. It's a pretty cool movie - Hector is da man.

The end gives me the irrits though. The only thing I remember about The Odessey (from reading The Golden Fleece, a collection of Greek myths) is how Achillies dies - he was shot in the heel with a poisoned arrow. And they completely bugger this up in the movie. Gah! Achillies was very cool though, and Persephone was the best!

Them screwing up the only part of the Odessey that I remember made me doubt the whole rest of the movie.

Slightly OT: Mum's favourite quote is from the last page of the second chapter of Odyssey:

The Night passed and Morning came and they sailed endlessly.

The original is WAAAAAY creepy!! I've not seen the re-make yet, but that kid looks just as creepy as the original one.

Saw Garden State yesterday. Highly recommended.

Well i had intended to go to the cinema and see Team America, Saw and Saved. Well i went and watched Saw first and realised it was all the movie i needed, why go see other movies when you can repeatedly see this one
Saw, oh my lord what a brilliant movie, i liked it more than Seven. Such gruesome deaths, and the music when the real mastermind gets up at the end. And when Cary Elwes starts sawing his leg off, oh god its all so good. and that ****ing creepy pig mask. I daresay its been out in America for awhile so i should be able to pick up the dvd soon, but it has to be seen in the cinema... "saw doesnt always make sense" **** i hate you Empire.
now people go out and watch this film lots so it makes a shitload of money that the ****heads in australian cinema wont ever see because they rejected it and forced it to be produced overseas. its still aussie genius though

ive also been watching the special edition Evil Dead, the commentary with Bruce Campbell is funny as. and the extras are good too.... and then theres the movie

Bridget Jones

Me and Something saw Bridget Jones The edge of reason last week.
It is great, but the first one I think is a little bit better.

Man On Fire What a weird, stupid movie. The first act had such a good thing going, and then the rest of the movie is filled with this in destructable assasin torturing the living daylights out of these other guys. Sick. And they seek to justify it by playing repeatedly a black and white shot of Pita getting dragged away and screaming. It didn't work for me. Like I said, the first act had a good thing going, but the rest of the movie was stupid. I did like at the end, when she runs across the overpass yelling "Creasey!"- that was touching. The rest was.. well, I don't need to repeat myself.

Watched the Love In A Cold Climate-trilogy with Mum this w-e.

It was marvellous to hear that upper-class British English. A Classic.
