Posted a little bit that needed to be done before tackling any discussion with Tom.
RÃ*an, you still around? Or are you on holiday? How's the foot these days?

I do! I moved it to earlier in the timeline though - Feast of Reuniting anyone?

Feast of Reuniting was when Erufailon and Arindis met again and realised that her gratitude to him for having saved her from drowning in the ice, had grown to something more - they got engaged soon after that
I look forward to seeing how you moved it - my suggestion of timing was only a suggestion

I'm still around, but this has been the hardest two-year stretch in my life, methinks Still doing PT for foot, but I think we're about ready to wind it down - I think we've got as much as we're going to get. The two-year anniversary of the original injury is in October - what a long time I've battled this, and that battle is only one of many, many ones these past two years. Anyway, I"m so glad you wrote something - I enjoyed it

OK, I made it!!!!!! I posted!!!!!
I always liked the dream sequences at Tom's house, and how the hobbits had scary dreams and were then comforted. I think they all work up first, but I didn't want my elves to actually wake, since they can kind of sleep/wake at the same time, anyway, or something like that at least. Anyway, thanks guys for keeping it alive during my hard times, and esp. thanks to Earniel for having this fun idea of going to Tom's and then getting it going with some great posts! btw, I used the word "tender" in the description of Nan-tathren, because JRRT used it (BOLT II, The Fall of Gondolin - "that most tender Land of Willows") - I thought it was an interesting word, and very apropos for a land of healing. *swats the crickets*

Yeay, postage! Wonderful of you, RÃ*an!
Interesting to see how we both tackled the scene differently, you included the bad memory before the comforting in the dream, while I modelled my post solely on Frodo's short glimpse of Tol Eresseä. I wonder, did Alariel dream, or was she like Sam: sleeping and dreaming like a log, if logs could dream?

That's my next post - the other two elves
did you like the arrow-theme of Alagos' dreams?

Glor started telling a monster-length story and I got stuck. And then I got distracted. Again. Post is being worked on though.

Great idea! Having the competition as part of the Feast of Reuniting is better than having it in Gondolin. And you're right about Erufailon and Arindis

And poor Glor - 'niece' indeed

You just know mistakes like that had to happen from time to time.
I wish we knew more about the Feast of Reuniting. It seems like the one place in the Sil where there could have been some really interesting, non-murder-focused culture clash stories, and it tends to just get ignored. *pout*

Sorry I've been gone for so long shoulder is not doing well - I have to go under again for a short procedure next week that should hopefully finally put me on the right road to recovery, but I'm sure it will be at least another few months before I'm well enough to post again
If you guys are up to it, keep posting - I love your writing! - but I understand if you don't want to.

Sorry to hear the shoulder still isn't what it should be.
Since my characters depend on yours, I'm perfectly happy to wait a couple of months until you're ready again to join us.

I guess that if Willow and I come up with a good idea for our next post, we could double-post - or else, we'll just wait as well. I definitely want to continue, when the time is right!
