I'm trying to catch up with 1.5 weeks of being ill in 1 day. Wonder if it'll work. Good news is that so far I'm not experiencing any headaches, only a slight nausea.
Cup of tea anyone? *is reading 'On Chesil Beach' by Ian McEwan*

Today's fail at being cool:
I was walking through campus, and a very nice guy came up to me and told me that he liked my shirt. I was flattered. Then he told me that I seemed intelligent, and I became suspicious because all I had said was, "Hey man." Clearly he didn't know me as well as he thought he did. Then he tried to give me a text of ancient wisdoms, and I said no thank you. Apparently this guy was a monk of some kind trying to pass out texts of... you know... ancient wisdom. So I told him no thank you again, and as he left I shook his hand, looked him right in the eye and said: "Thanks for the offer. Good luck with... being a monk and everything." A tiny part of me died. I am also wondering if he really liked my shirt, or if he just wanted me to get some ancient wisdom. Probably even moreso after my fairwell statement. This whole encounter has thrown me into serious self doubt. |

People that try to proselytize me to their religion drive me nuts. The door to door kind, I especially don't like.

I'm learning to use CSS. At my job, I've gotten very good at HTML. So for a long time, I could make a really well-structured web page. However, because I work at a University, all the styles are already placed and I don't ever touch the stylesheets. So I could make a really well-structured, boring and ugly page. Now I can make a well-structured and PRETTY page. Yay me!

Great Midge. I did my very first page with HTML. Now I use the text editor in the filemanager on homepage. I still do HTML - couldnt quite figure out CSS.

Trust me, the clearly cool shirt one is wearing has no bearing on people trying to pass you some ancient wisdom or not. I've had door-to-door Jehova's ask for my parents after I opened the door, while wearing my uber-cool Gandalf T-shirt. (I was rather insulted, you shouldn't be getting that sort of question at 29...)

Tessar, I don't see where you failed to be cool. Shaking the wise guy's hand, looking him in the eye and so definitely putting an end to his dreams of selling you his ancient texts... that was pretty cool in itself

I'd love to be able to have my own website, but geez, louise, that costs money. Who'd have thunk it?
