ou would not believe what I had to go through in the name of octopus safety this weekend. We had to build a new stand, with no instructions. Not even a parts inventory. I beleive the inkling (they named him Harley

) is alright, but wont know for sure for a week or so. So what's going on here? Happy anniversary, sis!

I think I will, join you that is. Yes, transportation was my first concern, after that is water quality, places to hide, and injury avoidance, along with a few others. But I must make sure that the pH is right, I know there was no copper in the water, but the nitrates might be high, so I'll have to take care of that from a distance. Woopee.

Anyway, for babysitting today I get to watch the 5-year-old audition for a play while Pip watches the 1 1/2 year old at our music teachers house while our music teacher... teaches music.

I could definately use some. Especially since I may be transporting yet another cephalopod this year. Same species as in my Av: Euprymna berryi.

I did identify the inkling, narrowed it down to two species, something the place I got it from was unable to do. It is either Octopus bimaculoides or Octopus bimaculatus. Wont be able to tell for sure which one for a little while yet, though.

Sis- No. No tap water (thank God), which is why I'm sure about the copper being absent. It was cycled water that we bought from an exotic fish store, but I'm not sure of the quality, and yes, my host doesnt know alot about this type of thing at all, so I'm sure to be getting plenty of calls. Thing is, octopus produce massive amounts of waste for their size, but low-flow filters are the best for them when they are this young, so I have to keep an eye on the nitrate level, because they are terribly sensitive creatures, and iti is in fact a low-flow filter.
