Made regions for Region II in New Jersey on Euphonium. First time I've made high school regions. auditions were this past weekend.
New Jersey All-State Auditions aren't until Jan 22. People who placed high enough in each of the 3 NJ regions are eligible to audition for All-State (I'm one of them ).

I haven't been here in awhile, but - WOW! Congrats, everyone - JD and his work for NJ (which I have always thought of as a nice place because of a former roomie who loved it!) and the kids, Merc with the oboe, inked with the avatar and the essay, Hobbit and Starr and Nurvi - hooray!

I like that avatar, inked. It really triggered "Aslan" in my mind, before I knew it was supposed to be him. Good job, Rad!
JD, that's impressive. And it's great that you can be so productive with your life-long love. (I can't figure out how to reword that. Pardon the dual meaning; unintended. ) And hey! My principal aggreed to consider my class trip idea! I'm the president of the school's history club, and I suggested that we take any willing students into a paintball re-enactment of the Battle of Stalingrad (here). I found the insurance info he wanted, and I'm thinking he'll totally approve, if we can make our own waive of liability forms for the school. I can't wait, though nothing's quite final...

Hobbit--Congrats . In DE we have such a small population there is just state stuff. Not even county/region. 90% of people trying out are from New Castle county, lol.
My cousin in SC has county (her one county is bigger than DE even), regionals, and then states.

Well... about three weeks ago I stopped doing any work whatsoever for my politics class...
Before that, though, I had done just about everything. So on the final today, all we had to do was write two essays, and were given several different topics. And I remembered enough about two of the topics (enough meaning just about everything ) to write quite a bit! And I finished everything on time! (Let's forget about that 4am stint of two nights ago... ) Done! I survived my first semester of college!

Just got my exam results. I thought chances were big I'd fail and if I didn't, I would pass with a minimal margin. But no, I passed and was just a couple of points from "very good" - the best mark
That means I do not have to have another exam and that means I do not have to spend the rest of my holidays studying

At the moment I'm putting the finishing touches on a translation of a Swedish Children's book. It's called Tomtemaskinen (The Santaclaus Machine) and is one of the very popular Pettson and Findus-books.
I've done it in webformat so now I'm copying and pasting in the image-tag and halving the widths/heights of the images. I've done two chapters of seventeen so far. It's going pretty quick so if I keep it up I'll hopefully be through with it by the end of this week. Last edited by Grey_Wolf : 01-12-2005 at 02:36 PM. |

I got my grades back from my first semester of college!
I'm glad to announce that I got a B in the class I was mortally afraid of , and that that was actually my worst grade... 3.556 GPA's not too bad, I suppose.
