Accuracy of this Numenor Map?
How accurate is this Numenor Map?
Looks pretty awesome to me! Did Tolkien draw a map of Numenor? Ithilbor Numenor Map |

Check out the LOTR Wheel of Fortune, newly started up!
P.S., Tolkien did draw a map of Numenor.

RP Board *squee*
Wow. It's the entmoot! Its been a loooooong time *looks around grinning*
Anywho, I came here to beg like a puppy. I didn't want to put this in the RPG Forum, because I figured that was usually just used as an RPG Forum...advertisements didn't look like they belonged. Well, I can probably count on one hand how many of you will remember me, but I was active in the RP forum here a while back, and have been going through a dry spell. But my good buddy (entmoot name, 'Akamai_Deredal') has created a role-playing board which is growing rather quickly, but we need more followers. So, knowing how big of a role-playing community we had here, I figured I'd say summat! www.adelais.proboards60.com You can play anything at all, really. Its glorious! So please, my friends, and random people who I am not aquainted with check it out *bows* Thank you. -Pip

That's right!! She created another board? I keep going back to her runboard one, and there's nothing there!
I'll go there, in that case .

Here's a plug for my awesome site:
Segovia Mazes These are mostly mazes that I drew by hand and enhanced digitally to get rid of smudges, sharpen, etc. I update it frequently and I'm thinking of getting some of these published in a book. Here's one of the earlier ones that's fairly easy: Here's my newest one (one of the most complex): The paths go under each other when there are lines on the opposite sides of a path. If there are no lines, it's just a dead end. The little symbols are teleports (you can jump to an identical symbol). I have many more on the site itself, so check it out. Please sign my guestbook if you do! Last edited by Elanor : 09-28-2005 at 11:26 PM. |

These little marks mean that one path goes underneath another one:
There's also a page on the site called "Instructions and Hints". Last edited by Elanor : 09-28-2005 at 11:50 PM. |

Hi Ithilbor, welcome to the Moot.
Elanor, you should totally publish a book! Those mazes are awesome... they hurt my eyes... You're really creative. Now that this thread is bumped, allow me to plug my websites. That's right, I have not one, but two glorious websites! The first one is my MSTing website, sadly not updated in a while, but worth a read: http://nurvingiel.bravehost.com/ The second one I made more recently, to showcase a hilarious anonymous reviewer from fanfiction.net (a fan fiction archive site). http://www.freewebs.com/masteroftheend/

I was a member of FanFiction.net, but I forgot my account name and everything. I think it was Siegfried, but in any case I don't remember enough of it.
Another freewebs site? Man, what is it with me and my refferrals that cause revoloutions? Maybe I should just shut up!

Creating Tornados
My dad (Tom Fletcher) was on the news recently! He built this awesome tower to experiment with generating electricity by turning heated air into a vortex.
Here's the video that was on TV (KUTV2 news): Creating Tornados in the Utah Desert He also has a website called Atmospheric Vortex Tower, which I designed. |

What is he some kind of scientist?
Wow, if he was an evil genius, and Mars was colonized, he'd have a field day in taking it over. He just makes a bunch of those towers on wheels and wreaks havoc on any Martian settlements (Martian, referring to human colonist, as opposed to Terran, Earth-dweller.).

You have Mars on the brain, don't you?
He is a physicist, but his main job is electrical engineering. The Vortex Tower is mostly a hobby right now, but he does want to see it used someday, perhaps to use the steam from power plant cooling towers to create additional energy. He is not evil, and there are a lot of safety measures to make sure the vortex doesn't escape from the tower. |

For those who can receive BBC One, watch Wednesday 25th at 7-8PM. They'll be doing an update on the Elephant Diaries series that were broadcast in July 2005.
Why you would want to watch it? It's about the orphanage for elephants in Kenya that attempts to raise the calves in their natural environment and re-introduce them back into the wild. And I hope it will also feature more of that footbal match by the nursery-inmates that was briefly shown in the July series. If you haven't seen a yearling elephant charging after a football with his ears wide open from excitement, you really missed out on something special. Should you be interested in learning more about the project and the orphans themselves, visit their site. They have profiles, and daily updates of the trunked orphans.

Oh-h-h...Well, perhaps one could use that for something in a generation-style ship, or perhaps even a sleeper ship, though if you ask me a sleeper ship requires little power at all, since life support only needs to be used for those in suspended animation, which from what I hear requires no power at all. It may happen withing my lifetime...*tear*

I decided not to move it, since it's my understanding that they just want us to look at the videos, not actually join anything or sign up with a program.
If someone else feels otherwise then I'm sure it'll get moved--I personally just didn't feel that it needed to be. |
