Were you talking to me, Hobbit? Because my teacher said there was a version of The Scarlet Letter with Demi Moore. No, it's the one with the creepy eyes.

I've heard the one with Demi Moore is a crappy adaptation, anyway.

I've also seen the one with the lady that had creepy eyes.

I watched an Aussie movie, Strictly Ballroom. Very flamboyant, over the top, quite funny. Reminded me very much of Moulin Rouge (Another great Aussie film ). Which reminds me, BoP, did I ever tell you I watched Whale Rider? That's a great film.

My teacher won't let my borrow the Scarlet Letter. I'm very sad. I'll have to go to Family Video and maybe Blockbuster and see if they have it. Otherwise, I'll have to actually read the book. I got some spoilers today in class though. Too bad.

I just watched The Butterfly Effect.. I have no idea what to say about it. I liked the end though^^ Not a brilliant movie, and it had more than enough typical elements in it.. Pretty strange. Has anyone seen it?

If you end up having to read the book, you won't miss much be skipping forward to Chapter 1, maybe reading the Introduction after the main story.

I was just going to read the end, actually. I saw most of the movie in class already, and I just want to see what happens next. I have too many other things to read right now to add one more book.

I LOVED The Buterfly Effect. Did you see the directors cut or the theater version?

Whoah, I typed a post in the wrong thread....

Anyway, I agree. The butterfly effect is silly - the changes are seemingly polar opposite extremes (varsity to prostitute?!), and only really effect HIS universe. And that whole killing himself as a foetus was pretty silly... Much preferred the theatre ending where he just walks away.

i saw the director's cut.. i should've watched the other ends too! damn.. well, i liked the end where he killed himself^^ so cute. no, that's the wrong word. but it made sense, if you think about what the woman told him: that he has no lifeline..

yeah i was laughing. The directors said it was the perfect ending, i thought it was good but come on a baby killing itself in the fetus is going overboard. i didnt get the note he left at the end though. "if you find this then my plan didn't work and i am already dead" someone explain this to me.

if his plan worked and he was able to kill himself then he would have never written the note, but if they did find it i assume he was going to commit suicide(?)

I've gotta get around to finishing Stuck On You. I think its a pretty good movie so far, and I'm surprised it wasn't very popular.

I saw Wag the Dog. No idea it was a comedy when I rented it, but it was hilarious if you can stand that slow, occasional, humor.

National Treasure

Wow! What a ride!! If you liked Pirates of the Caribbean, even a little bit, you'll like this one. What a fun movie! It was really satisfying, and very cool. As for the many 'nits' in it, I have but one inexcusable complaint with the movie, and it is as follows:

The nail! When Nick and Sean and their boys (and the ) are in that huge winding wooden staircase, and the whole 200+ yr.-old shebang is falling down, and Nicholas Cage is hanging onto that old elevator, he first pulls one board off- and it falls to a presumably horrible demise. Then the other board starts coming off- and you see this bit of shiny. It's a stainless steel nail! They didn't make those kind of round, shiny nails 200+ years ago! Plus, right after that they do another unashamed shot of this offending thing, and show the round, flat head of the nail. It's sooooo historically inaccurate, I couldn't believe it when I saw it. But, I suppose I am overreacting about it. But, I live in a 100+ year-old-house, and trust me, they didn't have those kinds of nails.
