*is not in the least offended any more* Reread it very carefully - there might even have been another archer to add in with me ... Edit: And I do agree with those who said that it is a great poem.

Well, some historical tidbits were changed to favor of the poem's whyme-scheme. Couldn't have written it any other way. Quote:
Poem has been edited to include your lines. I hope you like. Also put Insidious and Trolls' Bane in there just to be safe . Also edited some other little bits to make it flow better.

I think Inked should write a poem from the balrog's point of view. It'll be a sociological reaction to a post-Mirkwood War mentality

Ah, the satisfaction to see your favourite song go ahead and win the Eurovision Song Contest
When was the last time Germany had a good song? Must've been years

No, it's not. German was terrible. In my opinion.
The only ones that were even worth listening were numbers 5, 6 and 14. Others were simply of poor taste or a show-off of how long they can shout at the top of their lungs. The whole contest is crap. AND I didn't really watch it, but Mom did, so we sort of had no choice but to listen. Mwahahaa, now I've satisfied my need to mock the event. Hector, that was an awesomcredible poem. *salutes and bows*

Germany came a bit out of nowhere, I think. I heard a snatch of it after one of the semi-finals and thought, "hey, that's kind of special", but I thought it didn't sound quite as good in a live-version. But I think you will be able to judge if for yourself when it starts being promoted on the radio, Mari. Incidentally, what did you think of your own Dutch entry?
Naaah, it's a great opportunity to test one's knowledge of neighbouring countries, politics and migrations. We had great fun trying to guess which neighbours a country would award 8,10 and 12 points to. Often got it right too. But even if Eurosong was entirely aweful I'd watch just for the two Belgians who provide comments and translations during the contest. They were so very good at one-liners, we had some great laughs.

"If"...? Sorry, I'm done now mocking it. Hope so...
The day after tomorrow my entrance exams start! Three places, altogether 7 days (3, 2 and 2.)

Yes, yes, I know eurosong-bashing is 'in' these days, or rather these years. It's certainly has a number of weak points. But you yourself said earlier that a few songs were still worth listening to, so my use of 'if' is perfectly justified.
Besides, the influence of Eurosong on a good number of artists is not to be dismissed easily. There are not much other events that allow singers to become internationally known in just one night.

Earn, I thought our entry was sad. Downright sad. Especially with the organ and the shalali shalala. We might have well used the 'Smurfenlied'.
Still, Sieneke tried her best and has a nice voice.

"Tonight on W-M.O.O.T. this alternate version of STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK - Cloud city final battle scene..."
Jonathan desperately deflects Hector's ferocious lunges, but he ends up on the floor of bridge and... Hector: "You are beaten. It is useless to resist. Don't let yourself be destroyed as Gwaimir did." The two combatants continue to trade blows, Jonathan briefly succeeds breaking through Hector's guard wounding him. The duel continues and finally Hector disarms Jonathan and cuts his hand off. Jonathan desperately holds onto the railing of the small platform he has retreated to. Hector looms over him. Hector: "There is no escape. Don't make me destroy you." Jonathan continues to retreat onto to the platform away from Hector. "Jonathan, you do not yet realize your importance. You have only begun to discover your power. Join me and I will complete your training. With our combined strength we can end this distructive conflict and bring order to the Moot." Jonathan replies: "I never join you!" Hector: "If you only knew the power of the dark moot. Gwaimir never told you what happened to your father?" Jonathan: "He told me enough. He told me you killed him." Hector: "No, I am your father." Jonathan, completely horrified: "No, no, it's not true. That's impossible." Hector: "Search your feelings. You know it to be true." Jonathan: "Noooooooo, noooooooooo..." Hector: "Jonathan, you can destroy Troll's Bane. He has foreseen this. It is your destiny. Join me and together we can rule the Moot as father and son." Jonathan looks around and down at the bottomless pit he stands above. Hector: "Come with me. It is the only way." Jonathan throws himself off the platform and falls down into the pit. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h6sj8...eature=related Last edited by Grey_Wolf : 05-31-2010 at 12:06 PM. |
