and my vent - I'm starting to get ominously chubby for the first time in my life, as I've been clean of crystal meth for like 7 months now; my metabolism is starting to readjust and this doesn't go well with my natural inclination towards both procrastination and laziness. AAARRRGG!! HATING IT! But at least I'm regaining my brain and creativity, which speed kills off.

Wow, Lotesse, that must have been hard - congrats, and keep it up!! I'm sure it takes a while to adjust, but it's worth it to be off that stuff!

thanx, Rian; yes it really IS difficult to readjust after years of self-abuse, but on the upside - it is SO, so worth it to have life and spirit again.

chubby you can deal with a lot easier than the pernicious headF***ks of any dependency on drugs: take the life and creativity and use it to fight the flab ( i suspect you are not really that chubby anyway?)

surely thats a sign your body is weaned off Speed?

Best of luck anyway

True that, Butterbeer; chubby is just aggravating and fairly easily dealt with, unlike speed addiction. I've been weaned off speed for a long time, it wasn't ever physical dependency that was the issue with me, it was psychological - and I used to shoot a half-to a gram a day, with very few "breaks" in between days. That's a lot of dope. I'm VERY thankful at least that I was never into heroin - now THAT evil, evil stuff is both psycologically AND physically addicting.
I just have to get up off my ass and start excersizing regularly, and learn how to be a normalish human being... ahh, well. Thank god for Entmoot

Thank God for Tolkien! Wow.. I had one rule, and that was never to ****** anything. The ***** can be dependent enough though, and the cost is high.

yeah.. exercise is a tough one to do.....

That was MY rule, too, for a really long time, and then...
Yeah, the cost IS high (no pun intended), in every way - monetarily, physically, spiritually, intellectually, etcetera; but for me it didn't cost much money because all my friends were gangbangers or meth chefs who kept me supplied at a fraction of street-value prices. Now most of these people are dead or imprisoned, and I will never cease being grateful to whatever powers that be that I'm not among them.
So, exersize it is. But first, I have to finish this nice Margarita I just made...

I figured someone would say something pretty soon - sorry 'bout that, Tessar, suppose I was going on about it a little much.

I don't think you were. You are strong to give that up - I'm sure you get much more than you lose. Keep strong, and if you need to talk about it, we're here.

*nod* If you need to talk about it that's fine, but we do have some younger members so I'd rather it didn't delve into the full blown description of it right here on the open board .

Please do feel free to talk to other members about it though.

thanx, you guys. Entmoot really is one of the little things I've got in my life that I can do & look forward to that helps keep me clean; I never NEVER talk about these things from my past to anyone except here in Entmoot.

Did you ever think that these younger members might benefit from hearing about how this stuff we can't publicly mention here can mess people up? I can understand your concern if we were promoting the use of drugs, but we are not. Exactly the opposite in fact.

**That's not what Tessar mean nor said** You can PM each other and still expand someones knowledge of a topic, it's just that there are some under age members that don't need to hear the horror stories from your past. We're not against sharing the information, just the way you do it.

I agree. While there is nothing wrong with discussion of drug addiction or sharing a success story in beating an addiction, there is a problem with becoming too graphic in discussing methods of drug use. Too much information. Although there may be something positive to learn from it, it is no different here at Entmoot than it would be with useing viewer descretion when watching a graphic tv program.
