So it's too dirty for homesocks but not for two pairs of ordinary socks? I like your logic.
Oh we weren't fighting over it. In those days (welll, still do, really) I ate a lot of chocolate paste so it was kind of my jar. Therefor, if it fell out of the high cupboard, I must have been the one who didn't put it away securily in the first place. |

The what?
Earn, homesocks are more difficult to wash, with those rubber thingies underneath.

Watch_Dogs, a game by Ubisoft If they just bother with it, as it seems, it's gonna be one hell of a game... Those interested, check out the H_IDE app, for example, or the Every town has a digital shadow-thing from their website.

My pupils sometimes have gardening lessons or like to play football outside, during recess. You can imagine what a classroom looks like after 200 kids traipsed through it over the course of the day...

I remember, we had a sand playground at primary school. Great fun in summer, not always as pleasant in wet weather. Two of the kids had to sweep the floor at the end of the day and I recall vividly how sometimes there was a good pile of sand we had to shift.
EDIT: Gardening lessons? So cool to have in school. |

Yes, though the kids think differently! Especially on rainy days
We also have choir lessons and smithing lessons. And woodwork. That's the cool thing about Waldorf schools

Well, I can't blame them, really. It's something I myself only learned to appreciate after my teen years, so I kinda get it. But gardening, smithwork and woodwork? Sign me in!
How do you manage to have all that in a curriculum along all the other mandatory skills? Teachers over here often complain their school curriculum is so full that they can't manage to teach the kids all the things people say they should know. Sometimes there's this crazy talk about appropriating the Saturday morning to teach even moar. |

They teach things like science, geography, history and economy in morning periods: blocks of three weeks, 2 hours per day in the morning. That leaves room for afternoon periods: woodworks, gardening, smithing, drawing, textiles sculpting etc. These are also in blocks of 3 weeks, 2 hours per afternoon. Everything else is taught in between.

Heheh. Ah yes, homework, the ultimate reality-check for people who want to be little again!
Although I'd be intrigued in homework for gardening or smithwork. Would the school provide minature forges or gardens for students to take home? That'd be cool. |

No, but they do have their own small gardens in the school garden. And during holidays they are expected to maintain their plots. If you don't finish your work for smithing, I imagine you just have to stay late at school till you do.
Speaking of homework: have lots and lots of grading to do this weekend (grades are due next Wednesday). The kids called it karma :P

Do we actually have large kittycats on standby for cuddles in the Teacup? This place keeps surprising me.
How did you weather the Sinterklaasstorm, Mari? Well, I trust? For us, luckily, the storm was mild and over before the nightly high tide came in. |
