okay, so in the story, the kids fly away and don't even consider the feelings of their parents. They were heartless because they didn't care about how what they did affected others. It was all about having fun right then.

if you can find it, it's an excellent book. It's one of those books that you don't have to analyze, you just sort of do on accident... the best kind. I lost my copy and it makes me sad. *tear*
