Now I've been here about 45% of Entmoot's age, one day that will be less than 1%! Can you beleive it? Although, I think that's going to be in like 35 years, so don't hold...ah...my breath.

Gollum is right, those clever Canadians.
The percentage of Entmoot's life that you've been here is x/N where x = the number of days you've been here, and N = is the days Entmoot has been around. Okay, you've been here since Februrary 13, 2003, so that's... 1122 days. (Because 2004 was a leap year). But I can't find the day Entmoot was started on, so I PM'd HOBBIT. edited because i made a mistake

If I should venture a guess, I'd say it was...oh, I don't know...a bit before 06:16 AM the 19th of July, 1999?
According to this thread, at any rate.

Thanks Fal! That means Entmoot has been around for 2415 days.
So you've been around for 46.5% of Entmoot's life I've got. But 45...46... who's counting. I really should go get some fresh air. Otherwise I'd stick around to figure out what x equals in: 1122+x/2415+x = 0.01

I'm never bored! If I ever do get bored, I just do a photomanip of a Nazgul holding a bouquet of flowers. Maybe I should give these to Frodo
HOBBIT PM'd me and said the Moot was founded on September 19, 1999 so I need to fix my calculation a bit. Entmoot has actually been online for 2353 days. My original equation was also wrong. I am now really curious about how to solve this. I'm having a fairly long discussion with my friend in MSN trying to figure it out.

What I mean is that if I joined directly between it's starting date and now, that would be 50% of Entmoot's age, say (for example) I joined 5 years ago and Entmoot is 10 years old, that would be 50%. Let's say (for instance, again, because this is highly exaggerated though I hope it to be true one day) that Entmoot is around for 100 years, making me a 95-year mooter, so then I am only 5%...ah..."younger" (for lack of a better word, because I know I am much older) than Entmoot.

Aaargh, I finally figured it out. My friend and I had a geeky discussion around the formula (1122 + x)/(2353 +x) = 0.01, which gives a negative number.
We can't have a negative answer! But after much discussion we realized... this is a limit problem. And that the limit approaches 1, not 0! TB, there isn't a day in the future where the amount of time you have been at Entmoot is 1% of its total existence because the longer it's around, the higher that percentage will be, not lower. I am so smart. S-M-R-T...

are you trying to say that the date u joined entmoot had been around for a certain amount of time, because if so then ya, the percentage would decrease, but thats the only way i can figure it out.
now, what the heck does this have to do with reminiscing

Entmoot is that many days old, that thread Falagar found is from the old board. (I think it was at Ezboard.)
That's before my time though.
