Great songs guys!
I especially liked that one about the Numenorian Girls, Valandil. I think I did something similar called Valinorian girls before. It's somewhere in this thread. Anyway, here'es one I did half a few minutes ago as I finally got time to write another one and Patrick Swayze's only hit was playing in the radio. So one mp3 lead to a line and one line lead to another and...enjoy! She’s Galadrim (Originally SHE'S LIKE THE WIND by Patrick Swayze) Filked by Arathorn/Hector She's galadrim of the trees She lights the night for the free She leads me through starlight Only to leave me for the West She's taken this Dwarf But she doesn't know what she's done Feel her locks on my face Her mem’ry haunting me Can't fathom her eyes She's out of my league Just a dwarf of the hills I have nothing that she needs She's galadrim (SOLO) I look in her mirror and all I see Is a young hobbit just holding a ring Am I just fooling myself That she'll wait for me Living without her I won’t be free Feel her locks on my face Her mem’ry haunting me Can't fathom her eyes She's out of my league Just a dwarf of the hills I have nothing that she needs She's galadrim Feel your locks on my face Your mem’ry haunting me Can't fathom your eyes You’re out of my league Just a dwarf of the hills (Just a dwarf of the hills) She's galadrim (Just a dwarf of the hills) Just a dwarf of the hills (She’s galadrim) Just a dwarf of the hills (Just a dwarf of the hills) She’s galadrim (Just a dwarf of the hills) Just a dwarf of the hills She’s galadrim (Just a dwarf...) (She's galadrim) (She's galadrim) (Just a dwarf...) (She's galadrim) (Just a dwarf...)

Well, I don't know if anybody has covered Metallica's Unforgiven , so if I repeat it, I'm sorry. I really don't have a whole lot of time on the internet where I'm at (Its a bad time to be in the Army, if you want to use the internet), so I... anyway...
He is but a boy when his father rides away His mother olives in fear she sends the boy away In time the boy's led south into the guarded wood Some happiness he knows but doom does not let go so easily O wronged he was and fled And soon he won renown on his head the Dragonhelm (I left the chorus the same, It fits Turin's situation well enough) What I've felt/What I've known Never shined through in what I've shown Never be/Never see Never see what might have been Never free/Never me So I dub thee Unforgiven The Dark Lord sent his men They took the man away Their errand Beleg broke And doom came yet again The Dragon came with lies And evil was the choice And though he went in haste His efforts were in waste as doom fortold And those who loved the most got pain and death from me so Death I welcome thee (chorus) thats it.

You know, I'm trying to write my own Tolkien song, and it's very difficult. I congratulate you guys on these.
I haven't read the Sil yet, but awesome song Beor. ANd that's a good change you made Arathorn.

Are you writing an original or mangling one? I find it's easier to mangle them--so if you're working on an original, go you and good luck!
I'm thinking of "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls...has someone already done that? I heard it on the radio tonight... Tano

Mine's all original; I'm working on the music in my head as I go along. So thank you very much!
I could proably use some luck or something, cause I'm stuck right now, too.

Thank you! At home, I managed to find some words that fit the syllable pattern but I'm still not sure about the end. Here it is:
>> Erupting into Isengard through jagged ancient mane > of rock once hardly breeched >> now shrunken in misery, > for Saruman dwells there. Saruman the twisted mage, > (Onodrim) to whom the Ents march on >> With Vengeance! > Fire in earth’s eyes! > Fire in the hole! > Onward! Step to kill! >> He’d torn apart their children, Hacked their gnarled race > in his brutality >> flowing from his deceit; > The Eye! Conquered his mind! The Necromancer shows > (Onodrim) residents of god’s world >> his endless Hate! > Crown of Barad-Dûr; > The veil over earth! > Outward! the Controlling Fog! >> He was Melkor’s own apostle to continue his leg- > acy, and hateful love >> of blinding dark corruption. > Sauron! Takes command! Acquire power over Istari, > (Onodrim) neglect the ancient tales >> of the Ents! [laughter] > Shepherds of the trees, > awaken and attack! > Thunder! In Isengard! >> The pedestal of stone then lay crumbled on the sodden ground > forlorn in desecration >> by their monstrous wreathed roots. > Glorious revenge! Acts of evil unto > (Onodrim) Fangorn’s brethren now will >> not endure! > Curse’s casualties > retrieve their dignity! > Downfall! of the Many Colours! It's supposed to be metal, so it doubtless will not sound quite right without the music along with it. I hope it's still good.

Thats an awesome song. I'm really impressed. Great job, Bombadillo, seriously. Its hard to do that too, man, I can mutilate songs, but its really hard for me to come up with my own tune, I always end up hummin' a blues song that I used to be able to play on the bass. Good job, and I envy your creativity

Thank you so much Beor!
Actually, I was uncounciously thinking of some other songs while imagining the music. When I got to the part about "Thunder! in Isendard!" I realised "Dammit! That's from Thunderstuck!" Oh well; there's my tribure to AC/DC.

This really aint a song, but I really didn't know where else to put it, it is just kinda cool.
Tolkien's 'The Shadows of Aryador', in Lost Tales 1 has the same stanza construction as Bachman Turner Overdrive's 'Takin' care of Business' Just thought I'd put that out there

In keeping with the holiday season:
Evenstar (to Greensleeves) What maiden is this The Ranger kissed But whose age far surpasses him? Whose dark grey eyes Like twilit skies Look with love upon him? This, this is Evenstar, with the beauty of Tinuviel! This is the elf-woman Evenstar, the fair lady Undomiel! Fellowship (to White Christmas) I'm dreaming of a fellowship A little hobbit named Frodo Strider's sword glistens And Gimli listens To hear Legolas's songs of old I'm dreaming of a fellowship Boromir's shield is shining bright Pip, Merry and Sam are all right And may all your Gandalfs be White Frodo the Little Hobbit (to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer) Frodo the little hobbit Had a very shiny Ring And if you ever saw it You would say "Destroy that thing!" All of the other hobbits Didn't like Frodo very well. What kind of good hobbit Goes to places like Rivendell? Then one day at a Council Elrond came to say "Frodo with your Ring so bright Set out with a fellowship tonight!" Then they set out to Mordor To destroy the Enemy. Frodo the little hobbit You'll go down in history! And I was going to do 'Gandalf the Wizard', to Frosty the Snowman, but haven't got around to figuring out words.
