It took me a little longer than I thought (blame work-reports that you know will likely be ignored anyway, regardless of the work you've put into it - me bitter? Naaah) but I've finally posted a new part for the Elves at Tom's. RÃ*an has given her approval.

It's delightful! Simply delightful!
A nice and happy evening, with no cares to worry them at the present. Just the kind of break they may need on a journey like the one they're on. And I liked the link to Gondolin, too. Perhaps bittersweet rather than carefree - but perhaps it was the happiest of their old songs that came to mind in Tom's house.

Delightful is the word
Great job, Earniel! You really captured Tom Bom and his lady! *high fives* I loved the little link to Gondolin, too. Thanks for keeping us going - I feel like I need a rest in Tom's house for awhile, too - almost 7 weeks, and still no insurance settlement Where's a Balrog when you need one?

Thank you both for such glowing praise.
I'm starting to think myself that a week or two at Tom's most be a wonderful holiday! I wonder if they'd take lodgers on a regular basis. RÃ*an, you don't need a balrog, he'd only set fire to more property. What you need is a nazgul to put the fear in those lazy insurance guys, you'd get a settlement far quicker with one of those imposing, creepy black-clad dudes at your side. (That or Darth Vader: "I find your lack of settlement disturbing..." does that little distance-neck-squeeze of his*)

Sounds good! If you see any Nazgul in your neck of the woods, send 'em on over here!

Update - The insurance settlement is starting to wrap up - we've settled on the truck, most of the trailer, 2 of the 3 quads, and salvage reimbursement. The main insurance company finally fired the incompetent local adjustor, so now we're finally moving along. We still need to settle the third quad, loss-of-use figures, loss-of-work figures, misc. broken contents figures, and maybe something else but I can't remember now. And then the medical issues ...
It's been such a time-consuming headache!!! but there's light at the end of the tunnel now. Oh, and then we have to FIND a new truck, trailer, 2 quads, etc. to replace the totaled ones!!!! All in time to test them out and go to Yellowstone national park at the end of July! And I still have physical therapy 3 times a week for 2 hours - the owner has taken charge of my case and is doing incredibly aggressive manipulation (and extremely painful - brings me to tears sometimes ) but we're starting to see a little improvement in the inversion of the foot. And all this is on top of my chronic illness ... What an exhausting last few months! Please keep writing when you can, and I'll join up soon.

Hey guys - sorry I've been neglecting this.
I'm out of school now though, so just as soon as my brain rebounds from its post-graduation numbness, I'll be getting back into my usual writing projects, including this.

Gee, what makes you say that, RÃ*an?
Willow, take your time. Enjoy your post-graduation days and come back to writing when you can. I'll be away on holiday in July, by the way, so no Journey-posts from my side in that period.

Gee, I don't know, Earniel ...
Yes, congrats Willow! Hopefully we'll rebound around the same time and take over as Earniel goes off on vacation. Good post, Earniel - I think you really captured Tom and Goldberry well! When you first mentioned it, I was intrigued, and curious to see how it would come out, and it's come out very well. Who knew you were such a secret admirer of Tom? And here I thought you liked Tuor!

Tuor is for ogling, Tom is for being intrigued. Besides, Tom is vastly under-used in fan-fic and RPG's. It does a writer good, to venture sometimes off the beaten tracks.

Great new Bombadil post, Eärniel!
Not only does he know of Gondolin to describe it, but he knows that this song was a Gondolin one. Amazing character! And I guess that the Elves won't get more of a definite answer as to who he is than Frodo and the Hobbits got, but perhaps he'll at least tell more stories about himself?

Whut? No new posts in the whole four weeks while I was gone? Shameful, shameful, I tell ya!
Off to write some answers from Tom B myself, then.
