I know this person who is driving me up a wall. I live with her, day in, day out.

She always wants to be right, hardly ever concedes a point. Won't back down for a minute. If she ever apologises or admits to being wrong, it's only because she feels guilty, not because she's really sorry. If she asks for forgiveness, it's not because she would really like reconciliation or redemtion, but only because she wants to feel good about herself. Speaking of that, she's entirely too involved with her ego. It's so freaking annoying!!! Every time I turn around she wants someone to pamper her "hurt" spirit. So she'll go and invent all these reasons to be down and out, just so she can have a pity party. I've never met a more selfish person. And the worst thing of it is, I can't make it sink in that she's being a real jerk. Even though she will admit all that I've said to be true, she won't show the least bit of repentance. She CAN'T FEEL repentance.

WHY??!?!?!?!

(btw, it's me.)

How can I take this losing hand and somehow win?

I've been chasing grace; Grace ain't so easily found
One bad hand can devil a man, chase him and carry him down.
I've got to get out of here, just give me One Good Year!

Tamuril, this may seem insignificant in the face of your loss, but the pet cat I have had for fifteen years died yesterday. I loved him dearly and he brought me joy and comfort over the years and I miss him. The end came quickly (thankfully)...he had a heart attack and died several hours later.

I am reeling from the loss. There is a pet loss support group in my area that meets the first Saturday of each month. Since that is tomorrow, I will be going and hopefully will find some comfort with others who have recently experienced a similar loss.

My mother wisely reminded me that "this, too, shall pass." And even though it is difficult now, the days will march on and life will go forward. There will always be a place in my heart that will belong only to Jasper, and I will be able to go there and touch the memories he gave me for the rest of my life.

I'm sure I will get another cat sometime in the near future. I know the new one will not replace Jasper, but find another spot in my heart to curl up in and purr in the sunshine of love.

Thanks, all, for letting me vent.

Yvonne

You can't actually believe that you or anyone here is THAT important that you'd need to have 500 PM's at one time Mind boggling.
