Sorry - but as I have said repeatedly - you were/are owned by England. If they are attacked - mostly you will be fighting. We are a wholely independent country -both of those were EUROPEAN wars - we have no ties to England or any European country anymore. We threw off the shackles of our taxation without representation 226 years ago.

Tell me one reason at that time - we should have gotten involed in the European conflicts? They were fighting all the time.

We weren't OWNED by England. And in WWII we entered a week after britain, by them we were completely independent.

No, while we WERE owned by Britain we ARE owned by the US.

Actually, even in the First World War we insisted on waiting a few days before declaring war, precisely to demonstrate our independence.

Does this means you are repudiating all those statements made in the Iraq thread on why the French shoud be so grateful to America, since you are now stating that America's involvement was purely for selfish reasons?

Yeah - I remember Hitler. I also remember how Europe LET him develop what he ultimately became. They even gave him Austria, the Rhine Valley and part of Czekloslovakia. It wasn't until he attacked Poland that Europe did anything about him. So much for Europe being concerned about democracy in the beginning.

No - because if you had read ALL my statements - you would see that I have repeatedly said that ALL countries look after their self interest. It's only the US that the world thinks should only do the world's bidding and has no right to look after America's own (Kyoto treaty and ABM treaty being prime examples). I don't care that France was againt the war - as I said there were a lot of countries who were. My problem was that France was going around bad mouthing the US and trying to create a division and split the world. They went so far as to go and tell the Eastern European countries who supported us and are waiting for EU memberships that they should just "shut up". he also threatened their EU membership. That is what I had a problem with. Just like I wasn't against the Canada being against the war - I was outraged by that idiot politician who said "I hate those American bastards".
