I'm not Wiccan, but as I've said in the "What religion are you" thread, I did research the religion a bit. I've never heard that, BUT there are several different branches of Wicca, just as there are of Christianity.

GW, I have a question...I was reading the Gays Lesbian and Bisexual thread and I think somewhere near the end you said something about God only hate the Devil...I always thought that God loved all his creatures just not what they do. i mean He loves us (enough to die for us) just not what we do i.e sin. i would have answered this in the Gay/Lesbian thread but that would be way OT and that thread has enough of that

Good point, Arien. I'll see if I can dig up some more on this later. Tho' since the Devil is Evil and God is Good, I've always assumed that they weren't very fond of one another. But I'll see what I can find.

Okay, I've gone through the thread, and for the sake of order, compiled a list of questions which, it seemed to me, are as of yet unanswered. If anyone has any other questions that they feel haven't been answered properly/at all, feel free to add on.

GW
Wiccans worship a God and Goddess, right? Do they have names?

The Lady of Ithilien
Doesn’t anyone have any questions for Buddhists?

LoI: I believe Lief said something on another thread about asking Buddhists why they felt that this was where Truth lie, or something along those lines.

The Lady of Ithilien
Interesting. Do more primitive religions act primarily out of fear, while the members of four of the five great religions currently (the fifth -- I'm serious -- being irreligion) are advanced beyond fear into worship or another form of intellectual activity?

GW
what is the Catholic foundation for the practice of "praying" to and canonizing Saints? What is the Scriptural basis?

GW
To Coney: In what way do you worship your Gods?

GW:

To Jews:
1. Do you believe in Kabbalah, and could you give a general overview of it?

2. Do you believe in a "golem"?

3. Do you believe that if one utters the name of God (the Ineffable Name) as spelled by the Hebrew consonants, that they have no place in the World to Come?

4. Could you give a general overview of your stance on animal sacrifice, if the Temple were rebuilt?

As I said before, feel free to add other questions.

And another thing:

I also heard that the Goddess made love to herself when she saw herself in a cosmic mirror (whatever that means) before the God was born.

Wiccan verification/correction?

Remember, I wasn't sure about that!

And the God and Goddesses have -many- names. countless thousands. They are usually taken from other religions. Mostly greek/roman gods.

Also, there are three stages of the Goddess that I'm sure about. It corresponds with the moon.

The Maiden, The Mother, The Crone.

When you say G-d's name, to which name do you refer?

Also, I'm curious: How many of the Wiccans here actually practice witchcraft?

I used to...then my brother got mad because I was burning incense. So I stopped.

Although, I have to admit, this one charm to find things has never failed me yet...

GW, I love how you made your sig smaller, so you could keep all the fun stuff in it without making your sig longer than the average post. Not many people think of things like that. Definitely appreciated over here!

Thank Starr, I got the idea from her.

Burning incense? Why'd it make him mad?

No idea - I think he just didn't like how it smelled. Hey, it wasn't in his room, I don't know why he was complaining! Eh well...that was last year.

I would just recite a poem. I usually forgot it so I would write it down.

It makes my mum mad when I burn incense. And I only do it because my room smells so bad! I don't even have my room on the same floor as her's. Nor any other room, for that matter.

i do...i try to do a ritual every weekend, sometimes spells, and to celebrate the 8 sabbaths. everynight i try to do a little meditation and thanks to the g-d and g-ddess, but sometimes i forget. I havent done one in a while tho..which suxs...but maybe ill do one tonite

One cool thing is to readabout charkas which are wheels that help the energy flow through your body.(there are 7 i think) One time, my leg wasreally sore, so i meditated and imagined the lower body charka flwoing smoothly, and when i was done..my leg didnt hurt!

Are these rituals kind of like...um...I suppose praying is the best example, something one does to honour/worship the God and Goddess?
