My favorite myth beast is probably a griffin.

Regarding some comments on this thread:
People are getting confused about the definition of a myth. "Myth" does not necessarily mean "untruth." Look it up. It seems that "myth" can, in effect, mean ANY story, true or not, told to explain natural phenomenon. |

Technically, if you're looking for ANY "myth," you can choose something from the Bible. Even if every word of the Bible is true, which I believe is the case. By the way, I am a Christian, in case anyone was wondering. |

what about h.p lovecraft?
If Satan counts what about H.p Lovecraft creatures? Not Lovefcraft himself of course as he did exsist(possibly) but his great creation "Cthulhu" I would have to say him/her/it!

Did you get my qualification of myths as not necessarily fictional? So technically you can choose just about anything found in any myth ... although I suppose if you followed that strictly, humans would be mythological as well.
Of course there are several definitions of "myth," so it's rather confusing. |

Sorry if this thread is old, I found it interesting. I hope somebody responds. Did you know in the true Wicca religion, not the Hollywooded one, there is no devil/Satan?
![]() My favorite creature are DRAGONS! I mean, how could you get any cooler than that? I challenge you, come up with something better than a dragon. |

Pegasus is cool. So is Phoenix.
Dragonrider, I actually have never heard of a version of Wicca with Satan. I've of course heard of the distinction between real Wicca and "fluffy" Wicca, but I've never heard the latter associated with a belief in Satan. Maybe I just don't know enough fluffy Wiccans. ![]()

Speaking of Wiccans, in history class we watched a 90's A&E movie on the histroy of witchcraft in America. And right before they introduced the Satanist guy, one of the wiccan guys called satanists "fascists and jerks"
![]() Gwai, you should've seen that satanist guy ![]() ![]()

They tend to be. Not always, but often. And I think they always have a theatrical streak, even if it isn't readily apparent.

The Jabberwocky? No, it's the Jabberwock. The poem is called "Jabberwocky" (no article); the beast is the Jabberwock.
