Nice Aika!
Now I do expect some pics at some point of course... I had a stroke of luck: the test I thought I'd failed I passed with an A. Don't ask me how I did that 'cause I was convinced I'd messed up big time.

See? I'm glad to hear that.
No place for lettuce... I should have planted rice.

Hey Aika, if you still got a spare moment in Nairobi, go to David Sheldrick Foundation elephant orphanage and see the big-eared cuties play in the mudbaths. It's quite a sight!
And if you do, tell them hi from me and that I'll be there one day myself. Well, well, that's what I call a well-timed thunderstorm, that breaks loose just when just about everything in the garden is finished. Now to hit the other sort of shower.

You had a storm? Hmmm... it's still clear here...
No place for lettuce!?!? But lettuce tastes good! And there are so many varieties too! *tackles everyone present* Does anyone have a good riddle suitable for 7 year olds? Earn? Maybe something nice in Dutch? All I can think of is: it's green and skies off the hill, what is it? and it's red and drives a car, what is it? >_<

Well, you could tell them the egg riddle from The Hobbit.
Or you could google 'Why did the chicken cross the road" and see what you get. Hundreds.

A small one, mind you. But a few strokes of thunder and some light rains.
Quote:
There's the 'it's green and it has antlers'. (herwt) That answer will only works in Dutch. 'What is black-white-black-white-black-white?' (A penguin falling off the stairs.) 'It's green, round and it jumps.' (kikkererwt) Works only in Dutch too. How do you get five elephants in a car? (You deflate them and fold them into it.) How do you get five giraffes in a car? (You take out the five elephants first.) It's green, sits a meter and a half underground and eats rocks? (Balthazar de groene steenvreter.) (A favourite of my dad, for some reason.) If you dig a hole, through the entire earth and you throw a rock in, how deep does it go? (One and a half meter, because that's where Balthazar sits.) This one's a classic: Why do elephants have flat feet? (Because they jump out of trees.) Why is it very dangerous in the jungle between 4 and 5PM? (Because that's when the elephants jump out of the trees.) Why are crocodiles so flat? (Because they go into the jungle between 4 and 5PM.)

Hehe, those remind me of the refrigerator joke/riddle:
How do you get an elephant into a refrigerator? You open the door, push the elephant in and close the door. How do you get a giraffe into a refrigerator? You open the door, take the elephant out, put the giraffe in and close the door. The king of the jungle is holding a party and everyone comes except for one animal. Which animal didn't come? The giraffe, because it is still in the refrigerator. You come across a river known for its vicious crocodiles, but you HAVE to cross it. How do you do it? You swim, because the crocodiles are at the party and thus pose no threat to you. I've never heard of this Balthazar though. I like the kikkererwt. Thanks, I'll put them on my list. By the way, the answer to the red driving thing is 'een automaatje' or an automato. Right, I need to go to bed now, because tomorrow it's 5.30 AM for me. Nighty night!

Hah!! 1 whole year! About this time the 16th of April last year I hopped into this really weird Tolkien world and twas sucked into its deep, green-yellowish chasms forever.. losing an additional amount of the meagre sanity that was desperately and is still desperately, clinging on to my little grey ones. Alas it is a losing battle.
Right'o: What have I learned with one year of membership? 1. Tolkien's world is a whole lot larger than I used to think! 2. There really are Tolkien purists! 3. If I ever thought I was a Tolkien purist I have been badly beaten! 4. There are no limits to pointless posts! 5. It is possible to engage in lengthy debates online about any subject known and unknown to man! 6. You can never win a debate, only lose it! Thus.. pick your battles! 7. Smilies never go out of fashion! 8. My typing speed has quadrupled! 9. I frequently compare Middle Earth economic, environmental and societal problems to real life problems without blinking! 10. My nickname list has increased! Additions are CH, Coffee and Starbux Incidentally tommorrow is the 1 year anniversary for Varnafindë who, in a rare coincidence became the second Norwegian to join Entmoot in less than 24 hours. I say.. the 16th and 17th of April are truly the days of the Norman invasion!
