Go back and read some of the posts I've done. They are pretty much totally idiotic, so dont be scared to go ahead and say it. It's not like we'll come find you.....

Very very good news, the baby octopus (inkling, as they're sometimes called) is eating. I saw him grab a shrimp. Very good sign.

Why off course we have herbal tea! Here, have some! *Serves a cup of herbal tea*

The seedlings are of plants I bought in Japan, not quite sure what it'll turn into. I only translated enough to know when to plant them. Still, it was a guess because the climate here is rather different, so I'm very happy they are starting to sprout.
The ones I'm worried about though are early spring flowers. Normally one doesn't plant them before winter is over, but it is possible to do so. If they survive the frost underground the plant that sprouts eventually is supposed to be stronger with brighter colors. Basically I'm just experimenting and I'm glad that they survived the winter, but I'm affraid there still is some frost left for this winter. They are planted in the garden, so I can't get them inside. Oh well. I'l stop babbling now. No veggies this year though, my mum forbade me to plant them as they tend to grow rather large and aren't always pretty. (didn't hear her complain when the tomatoes turned out beautifully two years ago though )

Maybe you should have become a gardener.
The only tomatoes I like are freshly picked raw tomatoes, with a little salt.

Bye bye and good luck! *waves at the little one*
NB: I don't like tomatoes at all myself, but they are easy to grow and my mum loves them.

Tall and tan and young and lovely
The Dutch girl from Japan goes walking
And when she passes, each one she passes goes - ah

When she walks, she's like a samba
That swings so cool and sways so gentle
That when she passes, each one she passes goes - ooh

(ooh) but i watch her so sadly
How can i tell her i love her
Yes i would give my heart gladly
But each day, when she walks to the sea
She looks straight ahead, not at me

Tall, (and) tan, (and) young, (and) lovely
The Dutch girl from Japan goes walking
And when she passes, i smile - but she doesn't see (doesn't see)
(she just doesn't see, she never sees me,...)

I was at a party. Sorry for leaving you alone
Can I offer you something to make up for it? Cup of tea? Scones? One of the last still pretty tulips?
The other ones are pretty much dead now, so I guess they didn't use fresh ones at work.

There's something about finding out there are Dutch tulips that age that makes me a little

Oh? I'd say it's pretty normal for them to die eventually. Tulips whither quite fast and even faster if you don't care for them properly. I wasn't able to change the water for 3 days now, since I'm at my parents', so I expect most of them to be very dead when I get home tomorrow. I'm hoping there will still be a few left I can save for another 3 days or so.

I was joking, a little. Did you know there are Dutch tourist destinations in NA? As for most places. One that had a big impact on me, as a child, was this one : http://www.themeparkreview.com/pa2004/dw/dw1.htm

Those rollercoasters and other attractions are so cute! They remind me of a themepark my aunt once took me and my sis when we were young.
I am wondering where the Dutchness is though >_< (And what's with the Amish?)
This is my favorite ride: the "zweefmolen"

The Dutch business is an old confusion. The Amish are Mennonites (an Anabaptist religious sect) they're of German extraction (and speak a variant of German) so their term "Deutsch" has been corrupted into "Dutch", in common usage. They're called "Pennsylvania Dutch", and a lot of tourism activity features Windmills, wooden shoes, etc.

I'd venture to bet that the visitors spending $1.6 BILLION dollars annually on Lancaster county tourism mostly have a vague notion those Amish are Dutch.

It is of these shaky public perceptions that people develop a worldview.

I see... oh well, at least it keeps me busy correcting all these "shaky public perceptions".
Without it I might get bored

The biggest misconcption I've ever corrected: The Netherlands CANNOT be found in the Himalayas...
Which reminds me of the worst pickup line I ever had used on me: "Is one of your parents Chinese? You look a bit Chinese to me" (You saw me: blond, blue eyes and not Chinese looking at all...)

A lot of my immediate neighbors are European, so I've always been interested in the disconnect between "American popular culture" and what I knew of actual Europeans, and their personal history. It makes speaking to "reg'lar Amurrcans" more challenging than you'd think.

Of course, other folks have quaint notions about the States, as well. That's always fun.
