Tessar, go to the doctor. You're at exactly the right age for meningitis.
http://kidshealth.org/parent/infecti...eningitis.html See? And you thought I was always an optimist.

I didn't go. I'm slowly getting better... last night I had a headache, but my neck wasn't quite as sore. I was singing at an outdoor mass in the late evening, and I got pretty lightheaded after my neck started hurting, but I think that was more from having to sing up in my head voice so much with all of the heat and no breeze.
It wasn't meningitis though, because the pain and fever weren't constant. It only came on in the late afternoon/at night. In fact, yesterday afternoon I found two knots in my back (one at the base of my neck and the other in the middle of my shoulder blade) and once I massaged those out I started to feel better. Whatever it was, I guess I'm recovering. But I am seriously not going to go to the doctor so I can sit in the waiting room for three hours like I always do just to be told that there's nothing wrong with me (unless it's a sinus infection, which this isn't ). Or, that horrible time last semester when I had the flu and I had to go to the office by myself to get a doctor's note and almost passed out when the nurse took my temp. |

Heh, sorry, not physically crappy. That's mostly over except for some minor headaches at night... my neck is back to almost 100%.

Tessar, oh noes! *hugs* Sorry I wasn't up. ^_^
*sigh* I hate these time differences. Vent: I have nothing to really vent about. Just a few complaints about situations of my own making.

Good vent.
My vent: Cops who hide in my driveway hoping to nail some poor slob going 2mph over the speed limit in my street. They honestly seem surprised when I pull up into my drive way and -gasp- want to use it!!! Oh NOES! Idjits.

Oh my, so my orientation begins tomorrow and apparently it's actually my first day of work. The past two 'jobs' I've had have featured a sort of orientation that was actually like a separate event where you got informed about the job and schedules were drawn up--apparently I'm actually going to show up at 8 and be working a register with occasional assistance till 5. Sounds like a trial by fire to me . I hope I'm up for it... I'm a little nervous about that .
I'm also glad I called ahead because apparently I need a navy shirt and some kind of shoes... I have some grey tennis-shoes, but those wouldn't go at all with the tan slacks (which I do have). So I have to run out now and buy some shoes and a shirt. They said a t-shirt is okay but since they want it tucked in and I'll be in slacks (although with tennis shoes), I think I'll spring for a polo. I mean... we're not talking about working at a ritzy place, but I would like to look mildly tidy. I guess. Geeze I'm nervous. *sigh* |

Tess, don't worry. You'll learn how the register works in no time. And if you just smile and say sir or miss or whatever, all will be well.
Politeness can save your behind from almost any situation! *has experience with that*

Also, you can secretly undermine the evil megacorporation a little at a time. Let's hear it for on-the-spot discounts!
