Arghldybargldygrooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!
I weighed myself this morning, and I've lost ten pounds over the last fourish weeks and my pants still fit exactly the same. I haven't lost anything from the layer of fat on my stomach. So, speaking of, where the heck is that fat coming from? O_o The rest of me was already pretty thin... It's not water loss, because I've been drinking tons of water. I've gone from 175lb to 165lb, and I look the same. *grumble* Actually come to think of it, I should probably stop trying to lose weight and just hope that exercise starts burning that stuff off. I don't think I want to get too much lighter because 165 for a 6' 2" guy is a 21.5 BMI, and too much lighter starts to head me towards underweight. I've been too busy to exercise this last week, so maybe that's what's up. |

Tessar, I've heard plenty of times that stomach fat is the last to go. Keep with it and you'll get there soon enough. Make sure you do lots of cardio.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I was just reading that sometimes it takes over four weeks for the body to actually show a change in size (despite a loss in weight) because our bodies will retain water in the fat cells.
I'm not entirely sure about the science on that one, and apparently it's just a theory, but I did see that same theory on several sites I checked. Supposedly people will lose a fair bit of weight over several weeks, not show any improvement, and then suddenly in a few days their body will lose some of the mass. Weird. They did say that on men the very lower back and stomach (the things that control my waist size) are the areas that tend to have that 'water retention' thing going on. We'll see. It's a motivating thought. |

I typed up a whole response in the Gardening thread, but it ate itself
Don't feel like trying again today. Maybe tomorrow >_<

You guys, I hate memorizing music SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FRICKIN' MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hate it! I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, hate, HATE memorizing music. But I do love singing it from memory. ^_^ It's one of the best things in the world and it makes the hours of agonizing memorization worth it. BUT I HATE MEMORIZING. >.< Stupid memorization. |

Maybe try this technique I use to memorize piano music:
Take a small chunk, small enough that you can sing it from memory easily, and repeat it 7 times. Then do this for other small chunks, and then start stringing them together. Apparently 7 is kind of a magic number for memorization. It's helped me, anyway. Not sure if it'll work as well with singing as with piano or not.

When I've used a similar technique, memorizing in small chunks, I often have had difficulty stringing them together correctly. I suppose the natural flow of music makes that easier, though.

The AC in the efficiency where I'm staying broke down, and it's about 94 degrees outside. I'm pretty sure that it's well over 80 degrees inside the efficiency, even now that it's dark outside.
Blech. :-/ I tried taking a cold shower and I've been sipping ice water but I'm up here sweating. I suspect the rest of this week may involve me sleeping in the heat. -_- I don't know whether my 'host' family is going to be exactly rushing to fix the AC. Hopefully! |

Aww that's too bad. Not to rub it in or anything, but I actually just bought a new air conditioner. Now TWO of the rooms in my house are cool (the bedroom and the computers and stuff room). I tried to sleep in the heat last night but I had to move, not because of the heat actually but because of scary dreams about seeing ghosts.
Anyway.... you will get used to the heat after a few days. It doesn't even bother me anymore. But i hope you get some air conditionings.

My husband's been complaining that the A/C in our living room ONLY cools our living room. He wants to buy one for our bedroom also.

Oh, usually men think a room is hotter than women think it is. Just one of the odd facts of nature. See if you can find one at a good price for your hot guy

It was always like that with my boyfriend and me. I'd be cold, he'd be hot. I've actually grown to like the cold though, since I realized that it keeps me more awake. Hot rooms make me sleepy. I've grown to associate warmth with sleepiness so I like cold rooms. Now I'm just used to warm temperatures though.
(Also I was never really comfortable in cold rooms unless I was wearing a sweater or something pretty baggy because I was worried about certain things showing...)

My favorite thing about me being cold and him being hot is that I don't mind the snuggling. Although he's right about our house not being cold. I wouldn't call it that at all.
