The Big Move Part Two has been completed. My room now pretty much only contains a bed, a lamp and a radio/alarmclock... *flops down in a chair with some green tea* Oh, and hi everyone. Too tired for tackling and hugging right now. I'll make it up some other time, 'kay? ^_^

Can't speak for anyone else, but I'm being sucked into a black hole of intellectual despair. However, to liven your day I can report the results of last last night's experiment as negative. That's right folks; Vodka and Einstein do not mix. Now 'scuse me while I go back to writing sober.

Intellectual despair... yes I am familiar with that black hole. *has a deadline for her thesis next week* Yep... too familiar *breaks down in a panic attack*

Whoo! I'm at the three quarters done point! More or less. This paper is turning out to be heavy on the quotations, but I think it's working. They're good quotations and there are some things you just can't paraphrase. What's your thesis on? Is this deadline for a draft or a certain amount done or just a check to make sure you've been working on it?

Last year I completed the NaNoWriMo challenge. Now I'm rewriting the story, improving it no end. Hope to make it publishable some day. Hope even to have it published, although that's not a given.

*smiles as she picks up the thank you-note to replace it again with some food and drinks*
My thesis is on souvenirs in Japan. I'm translating a text that is mainly on traveling in general with a small but significant part on souvenirs. After translating I have to explain why this translation is important to the field, what the field is, make an analysis of the text within the field and make an analysis of the text itself (which is going to be fairly negative, but that's a different story ) The deadline for my final version is Monday the 16th. I'm still busy with the last parts of translating, translating the translated to normal Dutch and writing the annotation (explanatory notes by the text) and after that all the rest still needs to be done, but I can finish that in 2 days. It's ridiculous to think that I need 3 to 4 months to translate a text... >_< EDIT: Heya Earn! Did you or your father go to Terraria 2008 in Houten this weekend? It's apparently the worlds biggest terrarium event. ^_^

Terraria? Don't think I've ever heard of it, I should look it up. But if it's the biggest terrarium event, it seems in our best interest to keep him away from there!

Woohoo! Just discovered that I finished my Post Graduate Diploma with a high 2:1. Woohoo! *jumps for joy* That means that I pass on no trouble to the MA.
Now I just have to write my 20,000 word thesis...

The NaNoWriMo is a project called National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org), where people write a novel of 50 000 words during November. What you do with it when it's finished, is up to you. All you do is posting your text (or just a copy of it with all letters changed to x if you don't want to risk sending off the actual text over the Internet) in a certain form to have the word count checked, to see whether you reach the goal.
My story is about a young girl of a race of my own creation (remotely related to hobbits, only it never says so in so many words) who finds a mysterious text in an old letter to her great-grandfather, and who solves the mystery in cooperation with her third cousin (and gets to know him in the process).
