Welcome Faerie!
I use to eat cheesecake with a butter-knife, just hold the knife straight-up-&-down and cut a slice (like a stabbing motion) and flip up your knife with your "bite of cake" on the flat surface of the knife.....it's completely a Pacific NW college thing. For lunch everyday at the university it was cheesecake with butter-knives because the cafeteria NEVER had any other flatware to use....so we improvised and discovered it was more fun with the butter-knives.... Uh, ok, in truth, I still eat my cheesecake this way....and thanks for reading my completely pointless story about "eating cheesecake"....

Man you too got here fast! Only a few days ago you were at 450. Congrats and enjoy picking a title - I know I did . Or are you going to be an Elf Lord for a while? I'll just wait and see.
PS: I'm still an Elf Lord even though I'm the Lady of the Stars |

Hello all!
Yey I have just joined Entmoot! That makes me a newbie to this board-I'm quite a regular on other LOTR boards, it's about time I joined this one! Though I will admit there was a reason that made me stumble back onto this site, I used to read the Fellowship of the messageboard stories at FOTMB.com but when I tried to get on there recently it seems to have, well, gone? (The page cannot be displayed..etc ) So as they originated here (I think so anyway! ) can somebody tell me whats happened to it- are they avalible someplace else? Right, anyway!, Hello again, see you around! (From Faerie) Quote:

Nice to see ya Lorna36! Plenty of good RPG's to pick from, and quite a handful of crazy nutters to post with. See ya around!
Uh, Butterbeer, you can post now, I lost (won) the (non)contest we didn't play. Someone really needs to find a cure for this rampid infectious disease termed 'JDism' that seems to strike those with a post count containing too many nines (9's)...... I think it's all an attention getting device.....errrr, that's why I waited almost 5 days!!!! Actually I only waited because I locked myself out of the moot accidentally and didn't know it because I'm rather more blonde than strawberry this time of year....must be the heat......it's awlful this summer, the humidity is like 204%, .......uh, and NO, I'm not exaggerating.....bllaahhhh!

well, this is a sort of goodbye until september, my modem was damaged by a thunderstorm, and today is the last day of college, so i won't be around until i can get the modem fixed again, so look after yerselves, kids and don't do anything i wouldn't, although that doesn't exactly narrow it down

Erm, how can a modem be damaged by a thunderstorm?
And even if it is, you could buy a new one for around £20. - Sounds like someone will be creating a new account and starting a new user. Watch out for that IP Sgh.

Electrical damage to modem
I presume you don't have a "surge protector" on your computer. Basically they "catch" spikes in electrical voltage and will trip off anything plugged into them. I've been saved a few times by these gadgets.
The discharge from T-storms can travel for miles on electrical and/or phone lines. It is a safety measure not to be on line or on the phone during such storms.

We had a lightning strike here right next to the office and we lost our DSL lines within the building, but the surge protecters didn't save our computers either...just too much 'juice' My laptop (seperated from it's powersupply) is the only computer to surrive...

Well perhaps the surge protectors your employers had were old/outdated/under powered, for what they protected. I've got protectors on both power sources (desktop and laptop) and then special heavy duty (designed especially for) the satellite dish connections.
