Best to you too BB! I don't think I really "mooted" with anyone here on Entmoot except for Lotesse in the last year. I come and make comments on various subjects relating to Tolkien and entertainment and books, then go. I definitely try to stay out of the over-abundant Christian/Evolutionist arguments on various subjects that go on in this forum. I write my stories elsewhere, RP elsewhere, and but for one person, make my friends elsewhere. Thats pretty bad for being an on again, off again member of the moot since August 2000.

I still miss the community that was on when I first joined up here. Most of them are gone - apparently that's just the way of message boards. It's good to see some pop back in! *waves to BoP* But there's lots of "newbies" that are great, too! (and now some of them are old-timers, too!)

thanks for the edits guys ...i went back an edited p St #216 ...

i also started an important debate there ...

................

actually, without being funny here - thinking about the Moot an' all - you'd have to say that both the red and blue corners - ahem ... ... i mean the phantom dot drawers of doom ... that being of course Rian and Lotsy are both in their own rights bonafide Moot legends.

Their places in the Moot Valhalla are assured ....

their imprints on the mootywood Boulevard enshrined for eternity .. Lotesse's gentle FIST and Rian's massive Laundry pile surely an entry for this years odd couple Public modern art installation 2006 ...

question is ... which is Walthar Matheau and which Jack Lemon??

an' no arguing over the answer!

Lotsy and Rian will join JD in the Moot Legend hall of FAME and infamy .... infamy - they've all got it inferme ...

from the ghosts of moot past .. i'll throw in a thought for inclusion ....

how about Ruinel??

Well, Rian and me are like total polar opposites, I think, in many ways, many many ways. MANY many many ways. That's cool. It takes all kinds in this world, right Ri? Anyways, we have to mutually respect; we are both diehard Entmoot regulars, and both of us love this place and the majority of its' members very much.

What 'ya mean, BB, what about Ruinel? What about her? I wish she were still a member here, that's one thing what.

I would love it if I could moot with her; I have a feeling we would have had a great time bantering back & forth. Her posts were some of the first that really got me interested in registering here in the first place, back when I used to lurk and read old threads to get a good feel of the place before stepping into the water. By the time I registered, though, she'd been banned long ago. Yeah, she was the bomb.

EarthBound has your beee-eer, nanner nanner nannn-errr!! I know she loves beer; if you're not vigilant she will take the beer. Her and Insidious Rex, both resident beer-nuts around here.

While experiencing on the Moot is what this forum is for, it seems to be turning into another Tea Cup Cafe which is not permitted.
If this line continues, look for a merge in the near future.

..ahem ...

Actually though Spock IS quite right.

Lets please keep it on track guys.

Mind you - seriously i'd like to hear some of your Moot experiences Spock - you've been around a fair bit, seen them come and go - the laughs, the bust-ups the banter the arguments, the hot topics, the changes etc etc ...

also Spock you have the unique perspective of having been both a mooter and a mod: that must be strange sometmes, no? : i mean you are having a joke or enjoying some mooting / discussion with a mooter one day and the next you are having to act in your role as a board moderator ...can't be an easy gig, huh?

Why did you first join and what was it like then?

How long (on average) does it take you to forgive us?

What made you choose your moot name?

Does the Mod forum have it's own teacup cafe? and if so - who is the biggest spammer there?

best, BB

Hi-larious!!! Sorry off topic, and being a newbie I really have no business in here, but that was, again, Hi-larious!!

Edit- My experiences here so far have been great. At first I was afraid to to say anything at all, now I run around here posting like mad. I do love it here and want to thank all the wonderfull people that make it such a great place to be. From the mods, to the newest member, Thank You.

Oh my dear goodness, don't let that happen fellow Mooters! The posts would be sorted by date, and the Cafe would make even less sense!

I mean, it makes sense, but it's like having a whole message board in one thread sometimes.

So

It's kind of fun to be a veteran Mooter. When I was a newb, I was like "That guy has 60'000 posts!? No way!" I sooned learned the truth.

And I remember those debates about the movies... this forum is a lot more to my liking (that is, anti-movie), but there was that one hilarious guy Blackbreathalizer (BB the first, if you will, and as different from our BB as night is from day ) who had a total grudge-match with Jerseydevil. It was awesome.

Those were the days. I mean, the fire and hype has died down the movies... the DVDs are only $20 each now, the replica swords are being discontinued, and it's not longer fun to poke holes in the movie plot over there in the forum. I haven't even been to the forum in ages.

I guess this shows something we've always known about Tolkien's works - that the books are eternal, and the movies are a fleeting diversion.
