Why do elves from different places all have the same color hair? (ex. Rivendell-brown, Lothlorien-blonde, etc...)

This is a result of the family tree being very straight with very few if any branches.

Similar to some stories of some families in the deep south.

Why would any one wish to go to Mordor?

Are you kidding, it'd be a great vacation. Poisonous air, erupting volcano, giant spiders, orcs, Dark Lord, risking your life..............what more could you want.

Why did Merry and Pippen want to go with Frodo and Sam?

They were heading for that great vacation spot of Mordor.

Why are many hobbits averse to being in boats on the water?

Oops. My question:

Why is "Do balrogs have wings?" possibly the largest and toughest question in the world, ultimately causing more deaths in the heat of argument then those of a second age middle earth battle?

Fear that they will be mistaken as jockies and forced to wear scary, neon colored uniforms

Why is Shadowfax king of horses?

To keep one step ahead of the taxman. It also explains why he moved around very often over the years.

Where did Aragorn accomplish his greatest achievement, while under disguise?
