It's a transliteration of classical Latin pronunciation, doofus. Or do you prefer the ecclesiastical Chichero?

Well thats not much better...a word that means doofus? You'd think those latins would be more sophisticated...

Please, no. IIRC, thats sounds like a really bad curse word in spanish...

Sometimes I feel like I'm spamming the happy-thread.. Which makes me happy.

AND I'm also happy that I stayed at home and didn't go to the survival course.. Because by being at home and treating this I have not gotten any better. Sleeping outside would have guaranteed me an eye- or ear inflammation. So, sometimes even I make good choices.

INDEED!

IMO, you are much better off at home until the condition clears up. I was beginning to think you had a self destructive impulse in you.

Well, I'm not self-destructive, but my instinct of self-preservation is not very strong.. Something I absolutely don't complain about, it takes me on some small everyday adventures..

I'm so lucky.. I have such great friends.

A friend of mine found out that I was a bit ill, so she sent a guy with bread and buns (a bag full!) to my front door.. XD I was so surprised, and I couldn't stop smiling.. *happy sigh*

I hope you get well soon Nerdanel! Then you can go on future survival courses.

What a sweet thing for your friend to do! Stuff like that totally makes your week eh?

I am also very lucky with lovely friends. One of my best pals was very kind and let me stay in her extra room when we partied until after the busses stopped running regularly. She also made me a yummy lunch of pasta with mackerel, tomato and cheese sauce. She's is such a sweetie.

Plus, I am incredibly lucky about the Forest Policy paper I'm writing right now. the website we were going to use in the class to hand the thing in went down, so I called the TA asking her if I could email it to her instead of bringing it to the office (since I'm not on campus right now).

She not only said I could email the paper, but she also told me I have until 9 pm instead of 4 pm! I have five gorgeous hours in which to <strike>post at Entmoot</strike> finish the paper.

Sweet!

I am so lucky!

Tack, Nurv!

Yes, she's a great gal.. Crazy in a nice way.. It's nice being crazy with her. ^^

That's really nice of your friend.. I've found some new friends recently.. Or actually it's the gang I spent my whole summer with (biologists, yay!), but I've got to know them a lot better now.. We have dinners/parties all the time.. Crashing at their place is never a problem, sometimes I'm even asked to, if some of them need to talk.. I love my friends frightfully much.

People aren't always evil! Yay! I'm glad you got a nice response.

You're welcome and I think it was a very wise decision to not go to the survival course, although I"m sure you were disappointed!

Nurv - what great news about your paper! I hope it went well! *is glad she doesn't have to write papers anymore!*

And yes, friends are SO wonderful!!!!!! That wonderful "ahhhhh!" feeling of sitting down for a bit with a friend ... I hope my sister-in-law can make it to coffee with me tonight, I need to check with her *runs to the phone*

It's also nice to see you around here, R*! I have a feeling you haven't been around as much as before.. Remember those good old days in the 'Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals..'-thread? I'm getting old.. XD

I hope you'll have a nice evening with your friend. They're priceless, in every sense.

You earned your reprieve though, as I will earn mine. Don't you have a PhD in math? Or Master's?

Varsågod Nerdanel! Isn't it fun hanging out with people in your field of study? I love my fellow foresters.

I know what you mean. It always feels so good to just sit down and chat with friends.

We should organize a 'Mootmeet.

I'm already organizing a family meet; going to see my mother and brother next weekend.

It is! It's like you'd really have something big in common.. We're very different, but some fundamental things are the same.

Like this weekend, if I'm feeling better, we'll have a party.. The Jew and the Arab will make the food. It'll be very nice..
