Unfortunately 90 seconds is governed by "the power of three" and so 60 sec. wouldn't work.

huh?
Seriously, is 60 seconds a possibility? I think that would be reasonable.

I'm off to ANOTHER field trip - 2 in 2 days - oy!

NO NO NO , for two reasons; First, if we change down to sixty, then in a few weeks people will ask for forty or thirty or none. Secondly, I cannot program less than ninety second intervals into my brains bulletin board response time

thanks - I"ll be taking something stronger than aspirin with me, methinks. This one is REALLY noisy one - "ok, kids, scream if you love science!" type of thing with thousands of kids in the civics art center ... I always end up with a major headache after it.

I'm taking my nice new Chrismas pressie (ipod) with me - we'll see if it helps.

ipods are okay, but good luck if it can drown out those little chirpers. Geh....that's why I avoided field trips like the plague when I was little, hated em! *slips Rian a bottle of somethin extra* me thinks you might need that as opposed to asprin.

ah, thankee! *takes a sip*

Oh, it's the urple stuff! Yum!!!!!

Field trip was better than I thought - not as noisy as before. We sat near the front, and maybe the noise was just not so bad there or something. Anyway, it's a pretty good show - I went there last year with my son when he was in third grade, and this year was my daughter's turn.

I didn't think the ipod would drown out the noise, but I thought it might just kind of give me a relaxing sound to go with it, which it did, when I could hear it.

I bit the bullet when I first sampled that Urple stuff, but it turned out okay. Lord knows, it could have been anything, or everything. *takes a bottle of Urple stuff and two glasses, and sits next to Lady M by the fire.*

Lordy is it cold outside, that and its gusting to beat the band...

True that, true that. No offense to all my moot homies doggin' for the elimination of the 90 second rule, but really, you guys, what's the big dealio? Just slow it down a tad, & take a deep breath. It's not that big a deal, all things considered. Now I say, eliminate the "no swear words" rule, the rule that panders to little tiny children and otherwise delicate little earies. Being free to use the "s" word or the "f" word or to be able to speak my opinions clearly, bluntly and frankly with my OWN words would be fan-freakin'-tastic here at Entmoot, but I'm certainly not holding my breath as to that happening any decade soon, so I live with it, just as everyone else has to live with the friggin' 90 second rule.

That urple is the BOMB!! Whose word did that start off being? Probably Shah... "Urple!" *giggles* Hey, anybody want a Limoncello? I'm here up in San Francisco tonight, visiting old friends I haven't seen in like five years; it's been SO GREAT!!! At the hotel right now, on the laptop, mooting as per usual.

So, Limoncello, anyone?

Yo! I'm back! Nice pic, Lotesse.

Well, you'd think that most people would have the sense to not use those words and therefore not need a rule. Frelling spam trolls. They ruin it for everyone.

Ciao, trolls' bane!! My Moot buddy! Long time no C -

Good sense?? You mean, "good sense not to use 'those' words?" Come ON, TB!! Who cares about "those words??" Colorful, alternative adjectives to use for descriptive point-making; I mean, if someone's so friggin' delicate that they cannot handle hearing or reading the "s" word or the "f" words then I don't want to be conversing with them, anyway, know what I mean? PUH-LEEZE.

So, hw've ya been? Discovered any new planets or comets lately? How was your Christmas and stuff like that?

I must disagree with you there, the words in question are used so often in such varied and inappropriate contexts that they've lost much of their point-making virtues and are little more than offensively meaningless shells.

I find it much more impressive now when people can communicate a heated point without using them.

That said, I think the cafe needs a good supply of chocolate cake today.
