Unfortunately no spare. I tried to fix my tire a few days ago with fix-a-flat when the tire was low, and that seemed to work really good. But obviously it didn't last.

Well, its only supposed to last you a few days until you get it professionally repaired. Still, look around for a Les Schwab, they're the best in my experiences with all the tire and brake guys around here.

I do have a donut. Those are horrible.
Thanks Sane, but I think I'll have to go more local seeing as how we live too far from the city to bother with going that far for a tire place.

Yeah, but it'll get you to where you can get it repaired. Or replaced, as the case may be.

Indeed it will. I use to have two spares in addition to the donut. My older sister botched one of the spares by riding it far when the tire was flat. The other one just needs a replaced tire.

I had another one of those weird episodes where I start sweating and my hands start shaking, and the only thing that seems to fix it is completely stuffing my face. Till I eat, things just get worse and worse... it hasn't happened in about six months, so I'm surprised it happened again. I have no idea what brings it on... it's very weird. Still feel a little weird and wobbly, but it's going away slowly.
I was just doing some housework... weird. |

Well I spent about an hour today resetting my dumb mp3 player, and it didn't fix the problem. Usually when you try to use the 'forward' button it triggers the play/pause function, and sometimes when you try to play/pause it uses the forward function, and the only button that works 100% is the back button.
I guess it is about three years old now, and to its credit the thing has survived me dropping it a few times, and being left in my car day after day, month after month, in the blazing heat. But still. It's annoying. And now I'm having to reupload all of the music I had on it. Bah! |

I broke the clock of my client whilst cleaning it
Fortunately they weren't angry, but I feel bad about it anyway. I worked really hard and got a lot of things done.

We took my car in to get the battery changed because my car was having trouble starting. It's been giving me problems for about two or three weeks now... It would rev and then not catch.
So we took it in, I explained the problem. Go home, wait an hour, then go back in to pick it up. I get in the car, and it revs then doesn't catch. So I went back in and explained what happened... a guy came out with me and looked at the car then said, "Well, if it's cranking up just fine but it's not catching, then the problem is your starter, not the battery. You'll want to replace that sooner or later." I just stared at him for a second, then said thank you, and drove off. ... you charged me $170 to change the damn battery and it didn't need changing? I explained what the problem was when I went in. If it's so obvious that it's the starter, THEN WHY DIDN'T YOU SAY THAT WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN? I am all three different kinds of pissed off right now. I probably needed a new battery anyways, but -still-. Geeze. It didn't fix the damn problem!!!! |

Arg... I could have told you that!
but yeah, those mechanics piss me off, and they are everywhere. That's why you never take it to just one place and you have to SPELL the problem out and them have them write down their quotes and their estimate on what the problem is. Never trust mechanics. Good ones are few and far inbetween.

I finally got my own room. I only have a couple of weeks left here, but I'll enjoy them as much as I can. I've missed my own space so much, it's unbelievable.. And I guess I've been quite frustrated to prove it.
But there she comes again.. Like she owns the room. Sits in the armchair next to my desk where I'm trying to work on my thesis. And she never shuts up.. If she only could say something that I care about, for once. She complains about not getting anything done - asks me, mockingly, what I've gotten done today. Says she'd need to repaint her toe nails. She's upset because she couldn't go to Helsinki to get her hair cut. Her roommate is babbling all the time (!). She should lose weight. I should put my hair up. How come I look so nice today, and am so evil? Shouldn't I do something useful? I'm so narrow minded. What's wrong with me today? Why is my room so well organized? When am I leaving the station? Do I want to join her for a run before sauna today? No. **** her.. She's not taking this room from me. **** it, if she comes here and says something again, I'll ban her from this space. The reason why I haven't done it yet, is because I still have to work with her for a couple of more weeks, and I don't want the whole group to suffer from this. I've never before been so close to saying that I hate someone.

Can't you ask her to respect your personal space? Tell her that you need some time to work on something that requires concentration and which you like to do ALONE.
If she can't handle such a polite request for her to get lost, then... then... then I don't know either >_< Except for spelling it out to her, but yeah, she might not take it well. My own vent: If anyone is going to make me go back to that family to clean, I swear, I'll either end up in a loonyward or in prison >_< *is already fashioning a voodoo-doll* I have been accused of lying twice, I've been insulted, ordered around and the husband told me he would know directly if I stole something. And that all while saying things like: "You don't mind me teasing you, right?" and "I'm so sorry, but I'm just going to be straightforward with you... blablabla" I worked like crazy just to get out of there a.s.a.p. without strangling her. ~_~

Yeah, I've tried that.. Hints and subtle comments don't work on her. Well, we'll see what I do..
And I'm sorry to hear about that situation :/ I hope you don't have to go back there!

I am really, really, really hoping and praying that I didn't injure my neck or something.
On Saturday evening/afternoon it started getting stiff and tight on the right side, and I felt dizzy and tired. Sunday morning I was okay for a little while, but when church was over and we went home I fell asleep for the entire rest of the day and most of that night and I know I had a fever at some point during the night because I woke up three or four times covered in sweat. Then Monday I was fine and my neck didn't hurt at all till the late afternoon, and then by evening I had a fever again and my neck was painful. Tuesday it took a bit to stretch out but it was okay by afternoon, and last night I felt a little feverish and my neck was painful again. This morning I feel a bit better again, but my neck feels sore. In the mornings it feels like it's muscle tension, but at night it feels more like my neck is swollen or something running from the base of my skull down to my shoulder, and the bit of my spine between my shoulder blades feels tense too. |
