Hahaha! I just found the funniest quote from the entling awards thread.
Cass - Umm, John Lennon and Elvis are in my bathroom. I talk to them everyday. Elvis keeps telling me to eat hamburgers, but I say no Elvis, I am a vegetarian. |

Lalaith, when she was rude to me, tried to make up by putting this in her sig:
'Lin, my SM (soul mate), will you please forgive my rudity?' Or something of the sort... |

Said by some Brit or other, don't remember the name:
"Americans have a different way of saying things. They say 'elevator', we say 'lift'. They say 'president', we say 'stupid psychopathic git'." Another of my favorite quotes: "I can only please one person per day. Today is not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look good either." and another... "Miracles performed daily. The impossible takes a little longer."

My fav. LOTR quote is Tom Bombadil's song. Ok, it is SORT of a quote My favorite other quote is "Friends are angels who help us up when we forget how to fly." I think that is sweet

Even though the shadows fall and the darkness enters you will always be with me. I remember one thing about you. Your eyes. I used to look in them like pools of blue water. I could stare at them forever like the dark blue sky on a cloudy night. As I sit here still watching the stars I think of you, but the one thing I remember is your eyes. |

Hey Turtlelover, deep man, very deep!
One of my favourites (it's more a life lesson story than a quote, but I still wanted to post it, if anyone minds - deal with it) An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me," he said to the boy. "It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. The other is good - he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. This same fight is going on inside you - and inside every other person, too." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win?" The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed." Author unknown

Two Indians in council:
Grey Beaver: What about the white man? Nervous Elk (played by Paul Lynde, or something like that): Piss on the white man. You'd probably have to hear it, but it was hilarious.

oxymoron
LoL just now my brother and I were talking about the Silmarillion and we were arguing over how he should read it. In response to him saying that he didn't care if I spoiled it for him I told him that it is a good narrative in itself and he said, "I don't plan on being surprised."

One day, in my Biology class, we were discussing things that we can't do (e.g. licking your elbow). Someone asked 'Well, can't anyone open their eyes when sneezing?'
To which my Biology teacher, in a hurry to come up with examples and a bit muddled up, accidentally replied: 'Well, can you open your eyes when blinking?' Heheh. |

"You see, wire telegraph is a kind of a very, very long cat. You pull his tail in New York and his head is meowing in Los Angeles. Do you understand this? And radio operates exactly the same way: you send signals here, they receive them there. The only difference is that there is no cat."
"We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." "Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school." "Do not worry about your difficulties in Mathematics. I can assure you mine are still greater." "If A is a success in life, then A equals x plus y plus z. Work is x; y is play; and z is keeping your mouth shut." "Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the the universe." All from Albert Einstein. I might post some more of his words when it's not 3 in the morning.
