Welcome Draken. Hope you get some sleep every once in a while. The first time I mooted, I almost went without a wink for a few days.

getting back to the subject, if I WERE to name my kids after LotR characters - very hypothetical cos I wouldn't remotely consider that for real:
The eldest would be Eowyn - confident, smart and quite a temper The middle would be Arwen - very elven in her ways The youngest would be a female manifestation of Sauron!

If I had kids (which I won't) I wouldn't want to give them names they would hate me for.

I'm sure MY parents would have called me that, had they known about Tolkien's characters! Alas, they nicknamed me Oscar the Grouch.

I think it would be great to have kids with names starting with "Fin". People would say when we're coming over "Hey, the fins are here!"

Yeah, you could have seven sons and name them all with fin names. Wait, even Feanor didn't do that!

Here's some pointless info (which I'm guessin u already knew) for you guys-
Arwen means 'lady'. That's actually quite confusing. Arwen is called Arwen Undomiel, but also Lady Undomiel. Obviously. But does that mean Arwen is just a title? And if so, why does everyone call her by it? And if Arwen is actually her name- huh? Was Elrond just feeling really, really unimaginative that day. "Hmm, I have a daughter. What shall I call her? Girl? Nah, not sophisticated enough. Daughter? That way everyone will know she's related to me..." And Sauron I'm guessin comes from 'Saura', which means foul or putrid. Sure your hypothetical daughter will love you for that one! Please don't do any sarky posts telling me all this stuff is in the Silmarillion or something, cos I haven't read it. And I don't care in any case. I find this fascinating. Well, maybe I wouldn't go that far, but it's mildly interesting at least. What else could you name a child? Melyanna looks quite nice, actually. It means 'dear gift'. Unfortunately, by the time I'm old enough 2 have kids, I don't think I'll be thinking of them in that way. Maybe 'burden' would be more appropriate. D*mn, stupid online dictionary doesn't have that. Oh well. My imaginary child is safe for now. ~Fae

Could have been worse, I guess. Sauron not far or hairy, just disembodied force of evil. Must go now, have to raise massive demon army to scourge the earth. Also, have manicure appointment. Is no easy task keeping nails pointy. Am tired of climbing up and down eight million stairs just to taunt Gandalf. Should have imprisoned him in easy-access dungeon where could taunt more effectively, and would not have to wait until after breakfast. Have crossed orcs with goblin men in caverns below Isengard. V. tedious experience as orcs and goblin men most reluctant to breed, even with dinner and flowers. Next time will try something easier, such as breeding goblins and cheerleaders to create super-perky army that can travel by day and will not complain about pink uniforms. Did not know when decided to make demon army for Sauron that would be so darn messy. Curse my decision to be Saruman the White. Should have decided to be Saruman the Muddy Brown, or Saruman the Faintly Greenish. White just shows all the slime. |

Yeah, I'd been wondering about the implications of 'Spirit of Fire'...

If I have a daughter I'm naming her Rána. It isn't the name of a character, though, it's a name of the Moon. Meaning "wayward" or "wanderer". I personally love it.

Rána is a beautiful name. It's the latin for frog too.
