Here's one for you. My mom got a digital camera for Christmas, so of course I had to take it out and play with it a bit. This picture was taken on December 29, 2005. It's probably my favorite picture that I've ever taken, although I didn't realize when I took it that it had turned out nearly as well as it did.

56k warning: For any dial-up users out there, this and my other images are rather large, though you can view them in scaled-down versions.

Here's same tree on April 9. It looks like a summer pic because here in South Alabama, we skip spring and go straight to summer.

I also tried to replicate the first photo as closely as possible, and I nearly did.

Small print at the bottom: These images are mine and I don't care if you use them, just don't do it for personal profit or claim that they're yours. Not that the good folks here would anyway, but it makes me feel better.

Can anyone explain how the photoelectric effect works? I need to be able to read it. I just can't focus on everything Richard Muller says in his podcast very well. Oh yeah, I need to e-mail him. He asked that those listening to his podcast e-mail him. In the lecture, Quantum IV, he says he got an e-mail from Holland! Wow, pretty good if you're a physics teacher from Berkley, wherever that is. But it has to do with digital cameras and Xerox machines.

The lecture? Well, there's a whole online physics course (a series of podcasts from his physics course; you don't have to pay tuition, nor take tests, nor do homework, plus it's convenient!

). I'm not sure of the website. I'll go find it...
