If you want to make something imperative, use 'á'. Not sure if it is long or not, I'll check. Then use infinitive. if you want to tell someone not to do something, use 'áva'.

oops... Ni vélëa 'answer'-lya… sorry. oops... I is seeing your answer ... sorry. véla is 'to see'... so present tense, must add an '-a' but that would make it vélaa... which doesn't exist. So, we change the ending '-a' to '-ëa'. But I could be wrong. |

You misunderstood me.
They are not endings, but words. Examples: áva fire! Don't die! á quete! Speak! I'm sure your endings are fine.

hmmmm... still not sure what you mean, or if you are speaking to me. So, I'll just say: ok.
I'm at work. So, no time to post a message. I'll leave that to you. |

Ok, talking to Ruinel. If you want to make an imperative statement - a command- you use 'á' or 'áva', it depends. Then verb infinitive.
So: Don't die: áva fire! Speak: á quete! I don't know why I brought this up, except that a certain post of yours was confusing. I misunderstood, thought I'd tell you this- which you probably know anyway. Go me.

Here is a poem I translated.
I salque/sara tintille suurinen yo mauyala lindi ar ela-- antaro caure kemenna caurë menelenna. lassi hehtaner/uulingar aldallon ar lender arta i asto calpa i asto ve maar ar i vanda hlapune oa(r) norolli hortaner mallessen raumo hortane lenca Cala-haloitë tanne malina atsa ar san aica/ruucima racca filici tulcaner turmar maarintassen (maarinta= their homes) yaxi nornoroner ataquinnar tulle mine alta limba misteo ar san, ve i maar i haryane siire-ramba- peryanentes (peryantes?) i menel caita ruucine nennen nan laa nwalyane opeleo atarnya er cirisse aldasse. Here is the actual poem: The wind began to rock the grass With threatening tunes and low-- He flung a menace at the earth, A menace at the sky. The leaves unhooked themselves from trees And started all abroad; The dust did scoop itself like hands And threw away the road. The wagons quickened on the streets, The thunder hurried slow; The lightning showed a yellow beak, And then a livid claw. The birds put up the bars to nests, The cattle fled to barns; There came one drop of giant rain, And then, as if the hands That held the dams had parted hold, The waters wrecked the sky But overlooked my father's house, Just quartering a tree. Well, there it is. I did my best. I don't know if I should put the literal English of the Quenya up... The Quenya is not especially close to the real poem.

Desperately bored. I'll post something. Something not likely to be translated by anyone, since we know what it means. But why the hell not, you know.

Oh my!! Pelne? 'Ln' is not a valid consonant cluster!! Is it 'pelane'?
Also, 'velices na?' Wouldn't the '-s' go on the 'na'? 'Nan, le pelne.' Trans: But, you went around. Shouldn't the 'le' as a suffix on the 'pelne'?

Le means "for you, to you", it is an objectsform (I think). For subject, the word -lyë should be suffixed (carnelyes)...
