Last 3 words are: far, hence, and road. Correct?

Sauron the deceiver. You can almost see why the Celebrimbor fell for those pretty words.

"Alas, for the weakness of the great!
For a mighty king is Gil-Galad, and wise in all lore is Master Elrond,
and yet they will not aid me in my labours.
May it be that they do not desire to let other lands become as blissful as their own?
But therefore should Middle-earth remain for ever desolate and rank,
whereas the Elves could make it as fair as Eressea, nay even as Valinor?
And since you have not returned thither, as you might,
I perceive that you love this Middle-earth,as do I.
Is it not then our task to labour together for its enrichment,
and for the raising of all the Elven-kindreds that wander here untaught to
the delight of that _o_e_ and _n_w_e_g_/which these have who are beyond the Sea?"

The speaker is obviously Sauron, to the Elves of Eregion.
Thanks for taking the time to write this, Arty. It was challenging! Can't figure out these 2 words though

EDIT: I solved the whole thing, just happened to cross-post with Earniel.

There were just two errors:

But _herefore should Middle-earth remain ...
.....and for the raising of all the Elven-kindreds that wander here untaught to
the /_e_g_t/ of that power and knowledge which those have who are beyond the Sea?

Yes, Annatar was indeed looking and speaking fair, mixing truth with lies.

Wherefore is correct, but it's not weight.

Thanks!
First, please take a moment to admire my beautiful bride, Luthien, who just deigned to give me a mini-pic of her to put in my avvy, then:

"Y_t/ _f/ i_/ s_a_d_/ b_t/ _/ l_t_l_/ w_i_e/,
/_h_n/ _u_/ o_ /y_u_/ h_u_e/ _h_l_ / c_m_ / t_e/ _o_e /_f /_l_e_ /a_d /_e_./ T_i_/ I/ _a_ /t_ /y_u/,/ _o_d/,
/ _i_h /_h_/ e_e_/ o_/ d_a_h/: _h_u_h/ _e/ _a_t/ _e_e /_o_/ e_e_/, a_d /_ /s_a_l /_o_ / l_o_ /o_ /y_u_ /w_i_e/ _a_l_ / a_a_n/, _r_m /_o_ / a_d /_r_m/ _e/ _ /n_w/ _t_r/ _h_l_ / a_i_e/. _a_e_e_l/!"

I personally think this quote is one of the most pivotal and "defining" that Tolkien ever made (sorry, Rad. Perhaps not long enough for your taste )

Enjoy

I suppose I have many wrong ones.... It didn't go well... anyway, it's long enough, yes - I was talking about the 2 short lines people did in the last few pages.

Ok here's where you went wrong:
first line: "in"
second line: "he", "even" and "halls"
third line: "I", "now" and "arive". Other wise all correct.

Update:
Yet if i_ / s_a_d_ but a little while then out of your house shall come the hope of Elves and men. This I /_a_ /to you, lord, with the eyes of death: though _e/_a_t/ here /_o_/ e_e_/, and I shall not look on your white _a_l_ again, from you and from/ _e/_ /n_w/ _t_r/shall a_i_e/. Farewell!"

"Yet if it stands but a little while then out of your house shall come the hope of Elves and men. This I say to you, lord, with the eyes of death: though we wait here for ever, and I shall not look on your white _a_l_ again, from you and from me a new star shall arise. Farewell!"

With some help.
