Here's another verse of the Earendil poem. . .

In panoply of Ancient Kings,
in chained pants he armoured him;
his shining pants were scored with runes,
to ward all wounds and harm from him;
his pants were made of dragon-horn
his shorts shorn of ebony;
of silver was his habergeon. . .

That verse doesn't work quite as well because it's describing so many different things, but oh well.
