And what happens if an animal that is higher up on the food chain does the same thing? Humans are animals. If a dog marks his territory, is he going to chase a human out? No. His notion, or instinct, of territory is relative to him. And its the same with birds. A bird is not going to chase a dog or a human out of its territory, now is it?

Hmmmm....the other day I saw a cat "playing" violently with a fieldmouse. The cat had it's "fun", and left. The fieldmouse was left alive, but virtually expired.

Um, I tried to PM you, but your message box is full, so even though this is probably spam, I'll tell you I'm a Christian on this thread.

And if there were no morals then that would mean there was no God, and if there was no God then what use are our lives if there is no soveriegn deity to listen to us and help us with our problems?
Are you telling me, that you can't help yourself, make it through your own problems, and need an invisible deity of enormous power to do it for you? I mean, really - wake up and smell the decaying rosebuds. They're dying because you think someone else will magically water them for you. Clean up your own messes - you're the one who made them. Take some responsibility for your actions. You do have that, you know.

Why does the Christian relegion keep on going if there is no God? In fact why does ANY relegion exsist if there is no god to listen to us? Why dont we just give up?
You go on because you "think" there is something listening to you. I could think the big pink and fluffy elephant is listening to me - does that mean it exists? Does it? Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it isn't there!

Laugh if you want - you're only laughing at yourself - because I'm using your own argument against you.

You could. But the law, which was and is based on religion, wouldn't like it.

Religion's a way for telling us "don't do this or you'll be punished". They measure right and wrong through how much pain (and sometimes pleasure) is involved.

You can decide on your own not to do something, you know. Some animals eat their own babies - but we never see that as wrong, do we? We call it nature. But if a human does it - it's cannbalism!

What's wrong with torturing children for pleasure? Are you telling me that I have to change now? After all these years?

Live in the jungle for a while, emplynx. Then come back and tell me what you observed while there and tell me why it should be any different from the way we live.

Better yet, try to imagine a scenario that you would describe as the most obvious and necessarily immoral act possible. Then argue against that scenario being moral, but without reference to a preconcieved moral code.

[edit]I wrote "nut" instead of "but".[/edit]

Once again, it's because you think God exists.

This is just my opinion but i think religion is the cause of all wars and major suffering in the world. A world without religion would be the best thing ever. Religion is for week people who cannot accept when u die you die and have the stenght of will to find hope with in themselves.

Wouldn't "God exists" be the antecedant? You are unsure of the consequent X, in that God exists, therefore X.
